Awakening

Chapter 4

I was really dreading tonight because I would have to see Kayden yet I couldn't back out since I was the betas daughter, and unfortunately requested.

'I can't wait! I can't wait!' Luna said excitedly.

'Yeah well guess what? I can! Now shut up you mutt!' With that I cut off the connection.

Anyways, before Luna rudely interrupted me I was putting on the dress my mom picked out for me to wear. It was a white strapless dress that goes just above the knees with black designs on the bottom. My hair was up in what my mom calls angel hair. She took the sides of my hair, braided them, then tied them back. On my way out I put on my white flats and grabbed my gold charm bracelet.

When I got to the car I was squished between Sib and my 18 year old brother Carter. He's super tall like 6'5. While I'm one year younger and only 5'7.

Before we pulled out of the drive way my mom gave me a fake silver necklace. (Since werewolf's can't touch actual silver) The necklace had a butterfly on it with a red gem stone. Carter helped me put it on.

Once we arrived we walked into the dinning room and took our places. Since no one was sitting next to me Kayden thought it was wise to sit by me.

Boy was he wrong!

"What do you want?" I whispered through clenched teeth.

"Nothing, just to sit next to my mate!" He said with a smirk. I just glared at him.

About thirty minutes into the meeting Alpha Jack (Kayden's dad) asked if Kayden has found his mate yet.

Oh goddess!

"Yes father I have found my mate!" Kayden says. Gasps fill the room, then silence.

"Well who is it son?" Alpha Jack asks.

"Charlie," Kayden says and there's a few more gasps. I look into my lap to hide my blush.

"Charlie?" Alpha Jack asks.

"Yes Alpha?" I say slowly lifting my head.

"Will you be staying with us from now on?"

"Uh.. um.. I don't think that's a go-"

My mom cuts me off by saying, "of course she will!" I just glare at her.

"Well Charlie, welcome to the family!" The alpha smiles.

"Thank you?" And with that I'm dragged out of the room by the one and only Kayden.

"Where are we going?"

"To my room," he casually replies.

"Wh-why?" Oh goddess, oh goddess, oh goddess. Noo! He can't mark me yet!

"Because your my mate! Duh!"

He brings me to the room and starts talking really really fast.

"So I mineswell do this properly..." He starts. "Willyoubemygirlfriend?" He blushed. Awww!

"Yes," I say excitedly jumping up and down.

"Really?" He asks happily.

"No!" I scoff.

Who does he think I am? I will be damned if I ever became his mate!

His eyes go black and he starts shaking uncontrollably. "Why?!" He demands.

"Oh I don't know, maybe because you've bullied me since I don't know we were ten." I shout angrily.

With that he storms out of the room.

I look around the room and see a balcony. No too obvious... Then I look to my left and see a window. Perfect! I walk quietly over to the window and open it. I look down. Oh shniz. I'm about three stories up. Oh well I'll have to hope for the best.

I'm almost all the way out when Kayden enters the room and sees me. Oh cheese nip. Hey that actually sounds pretty good right now... Oh right back to escaping...

He starts running to the window when I drop. Haha sucker!

Then I run. Again.

I've been running nonstop for hours now and I'm still scared that he might be following. I stop anyways.

Snap!

Not again!

I'm ready to dash when Axel comes into the clearing.

"Axel?" I say.

His head snapps up. "Oh hey Baby Girl I didn't see you there."

I sit back down and he comes and sits next to me.

"So um... What's up?" I say trying to make convervation.

"Not much you?" He asks.

"Just ran from Kayden again." I say awkwardly.

"Really I thought you would have stayed with him." He sneers.

"No he's to annoying!" I laugh trying to ease the tension.

He laughs and moves closer to me. We cuddle and talk about absolutely anything and everything. I think I could get used to this.
