One could say the tides are ruled by the full moon but what if another were to tell you the reason the tides rise was because a certain maiden in the sea was trying to reach the one she loves but never quite making it. The town of Landor had a beautiful legend about the moon prince and the water maiden but of course what the villagers didnt know was this actually happened my great grandmother witnessed the whole thing. This is what she told me........

Before Landor was founded by Sir Andrew Landor the beach was an oasis. Palm trees created a canopy from the harsh rays of the summer sun. A stream flowed steadily as a small waterfall made a wondrous sound and the stream connected to the ocean. The Fruit like apples, pears, pineapples and others were ripe and sweet. this paradise wasn't like any other for it had a magical secret, it was a Oasis for mythical creatures. At times a unicorn by the name of Turon came to drink the cool water and graze on the sweet grass patches, fairies flitted around so small they could be considered fireflies. Small creatures of fantasy legends came out of their burrows to eat the fruit and the sound of the ocean and the chimeful laughter of the mermaids was almost like heaven on earth. Only one human lived there, her name was Emiline, she had black hair and blue eyes as blue as the sea and tanned skin. She made her own outfits by asking the animals for help and the silkworms. her feet remained bare.

Emiline was friends with a mermaid named Mirala. Mirala was the daughter of the sea king Dario who didn't mind her being with Emiline but to stay away from the sky people. At the time, Mirala didnt know what he meant by the sky people. Mirala had light purple and blue curly hair and eyes if you looked at them closely you'd see the underwater with a dolphin swimming around. Her tail and top were also a very light purple which sparkled in the moon and sunlight. Emiline kneeled down beside the mermaid fountain which she met Mirala everyday around when the sundial's shadow was straight indicating noon.

As if on cue, Mirala poked her head out from the waters looking at Emiline her eyes sparkling "about time you got here, i was starting to worry" she teased "im sorry Mirala, i was just finishing up the necklace i was making for you did you hear the music i was playing from my hut" Emiline asked her friend "of course, we were so moved my sisters and i started singing unfortunatly we accidentally crashed a boat" Mirala said her pale cheeks turning red "your so bad here" she handed Mirala a beaded necklace made from the pearls collected over the years by Emiline "oh wow, its beautiful but wait you didnt torture the clams for the pearls did you?" Mirala asked looking very concerned "of course not, i asked them if they could make pearls for me and they told me the clams a little ways from them were complaining due to the pearls being a pain in the shell, i asked them for the pearls and they spit out about 30 of them" Emiline explained to Mirala who sighed in relief "luckily you are the rare type that can talk to animals, it saves alot of oysters being lost, say Emiline i dunno if you have but i was gazing at the night sky one evening and i happened to look on the cliff and i think i saw a ghost, could you on the next full moon see whats going on?" Mirala gave her big puppy dog eyes "alright i will" Emiline laughed
