Beautiful Boy

I walked down Main Street and made a left turn at the four way by the park. It was a pretty Fall day. Wind blowing, beautiful leaves, and a sprinkle of Sun light to top all of it off. Not too cold but not too hot. Days like these were my favorite.

As I walked by the park, I noticed a boy (maybe 16, 17?) leaning against a post in the park. No one was ever at the park this early. But who knows? It's a nice day. It's empty and there is plenty of time until the bell rings for first period.

He looked up and caught my eye. I looked down at the sidewalk, embarrassed as hell. Once I looked up again and he was right in front of me.

"What the!?" I said, jumping back while the words slipped my lips.

"You're Willow? Right?"

"Uhh... First of all how do you know my name?" I looked him up and down and he seemed weaponless; harmless.

"Well a lot of my friends have been talking about you." he smiled. "I'm Ethan by the way." He held out his hand for a shake. I slowly took his hand, confused.

"People talk about me?"

"Yea?" he seemed more lost than I was.

"Let me guess. They were probably horrible things and you probably think I'm a freak huh?" I spat out as I started to walk past him.

"Um actually no. They said you were a beautiful girl and you're smart."

"Please. You can take that shit somewhere else. I have no friends. And everyone believes I'm a freak. And I can't even trust a guy I just met. For all I know you could be a cold blooded killer."

"I'm not lying. Sony said it. She wouldn't stop saying how she's jealous."

"This is fairly odd because they said the didn't like me last year. What the hell changed? I sure didn't."

"Huh. Well anyway, I was gonna ask if you wanted a ride to school. The breeze is kinda chilly."

"I don't know you."

"Well get to know me." He smirked at me. I stared at him, debating if I should go or not.

"I don't know." He sighed at my answer.

"Well you are beautiful and I'd love to get to know you. Please Willow?"

I looked at his face. He had shiny black hair that cover his forehead and the top of his eyebrows. His green eyes dug into mine. He was BEAUTIFUL. He bit his lip waiting for me to answer.

"Don't call me beautiful cause I know it's a lie." A slight smirk tugged at the corner of my mouth.

"Its not a lie. I believe you're a lot prettier than any other girl I've ever met. Let it be my honor to give you a ride." His warm hand made me shiver under his touch.

"Fine" I said stubbornly.
