Chapter 2

Kehlani's POV

"Okay class we have a new student. Mr. Calloway come to the front please and introduce yourself."

"My name is Jordan, I love basketball and I like Chemistry."

"Lani do you hear his voice! Oh my gosh, imagine his sleepy voice."

"Don't forget that you have a whole boyfriend Nikki." I giggled.

"Ms. Lynch would you like to discuss what's funny back there."

"I'm sorry."

"Very well Mr. Calloway. You may have a seat."

"He's coming back this way."

"Nikki, what are you doing?"

"I'm going to push your stuff on the floor."

"What? Why?"

I know she did not push my stuff on the floor. Sometimes I wonder why I'm still friends with her.

Now I got to pick up all this stuff by myself.

"Let me help you." Jordan said.

"Oh you didn't have to help me, thanks tho."

"No problem."

"I'm not talking to you for the rest of the day Nikki."

"What did I do?"

Can I go to gym class already? I laid my head down on my desk and took a nap for the majority of class. I woke up to an empty classroom.

"So no one was going to wake me up, now I'm gonna be late to gym." I said to myself.

"Kaiser where's coach?"

Kaiser's parents and my parents used to live together, so now we're like a big happy family and he's my boy bestfriend.

"He's not here today, so you good. I'll cover for you."

"Thank you so much. I owe you."

"Okay class run two laps then you can do whatever want, its free day today."

"Kaiser you wanna race?"

"You really want me to beat you again."

"You didn't beat me last time."

"I believe I did."

"By like 2 seconds."

"Exactly I won." Kaiser said with a grin.

"Come on."

"On your mark, get set, go." yelled Kevin.

I started off running slower than Kaiser, so I could save some of my energy. Halfway to the finish line, I sped up and now we were neck and neck.

"Don't slip on that little puddle of water Kaiser."

"You not gone get me to fall for that Lani."

He thought I was playing but I was really serious.

"Woah. Kaiser you good bro."

"Yeah, I'm good. You got lucky this time"

"Yeah, whatever. I'm going to sit with the girls."

"Hey 2b's, yall want to go over some cheers.?"

"Yeah, we can."

"Hey Lani, watch out!" Brianna yelled.

I turned around and got hit in the head with a basketball.

"Oh shit, you good? My bad." Jordan said.

"Yeah, I'm good. Maybe you should make it into the basket next time."

"I'll try and you sure you good."

"Yes I'm fine Jordan. This is not the first time I've been hit in the face by balls before."

"Woahh." he giggled.

"I didn't mean it like that."

"What's your name?"

"Kehlani Lynch, but everybody call me Lani."

"Well I'm not everybody. Am I Ms. Lynch." He said while grinning.

"No, I guess not. Now can you help me up?"

"Yeah."

"Can I see the ball real quick?"

"For what?"

"Just let me see it."

"Ok here."

I stood with my feet shoulders with apart, while dribbling the ball, then I shot it.

"Now this is how you make a basket."

After I made the basket, I walked away.

"Nice to meet you Ms. Lynch." He yelled.

"You too Mr. Calloway." I said with a huge smile on my face.
