before lucas and jungwoo knew it, a year had passed, and their love had only grown. jungwoo still worked at the ice cream parlor and lucas still visited as much as possible, though he was a bit busy and couldn't make it some days.

that wouldn't even matter, as they would see each other at home. the couple moved into a small house together, and spent their days in each other's arms feeling nothing but pure happiness and love.

unexpectedly, lucas strolled into their ice cream parlor with none other than jungwoo's boss taeyong.

"hey woo, i'll get the cherry chocolate chunk today," lucas ordered after tapping his chin. taeyong instantly decided on green tea ice cream, his favorite. "let me get it," lucas smirked, "it will come back to me anyway."

his comment made taeyong laugh, and for a second jungwoo was a bit jealous but also curious by what his boyfriend meant.

the two sat down in lucas' favorite booth where taeyong handed over an expensive looking folder.  lucas pulled out the only paper, and with a click of his pen, signed the document. they stood up and shook hands before taeyong left.

to jungwoo's despair, more customers entered the busy parlor and he had to wait until the end of his shift to ask lucas what happened.

"so, what'd you do today?" jungwoo asked the other at the dinner table.

"nothing much, i just bought you," lucas answered. the older almost choked and had to take a sip of his water. lucas grinned, "i own nct ice cream now. all their franchise, parlors and employees now belong to me."

"what- how-," jungwoo stammered, "i knew you studied business and management but this—where'd you even get the money? we just bought a house!"

"took out a small loan. nct's value is quickly increasing and won't go down anytime soon. it'll be payed off before autumn with my combined salary."

jungwoo exhaled, "wow. just, wow."

"actually that's the reason i visited the parlor everyday before. i was interested in buying the business, but then i became interested in you," lucas said with a wink, making the other blush.

the couple cleaned up the dishes and moved to cuddle on the couch, putting an episode of the show they were watching. lucas kisses jungwoo's forehead and whispered, "i never let go of you, or our ice cream parlor."

jungwoo placed a soft kiss on his lips, "i love you."

lucas kissed him again, deeper this time, "i love you too."
