Chapter 0 – Prologue: Life can make you mad, so drink lemonade instead
"You ordered me to come to you, Kunahito-sensei?"
A young man appears in front of the guidance counsellor room. The door to the guidance counsellor door was wide open. The addressed one glances up. She just enjoyed her morning coffee while checking out her today's schedules. Luckily, the visitor isn't disturbing for her at all. It's quite the opposite because she requested him to appear this Tuesday at 7:30 in the morning. It's a wonderful Tuesday with a clear sky and pleasant sunshine. , rotates the screen to the guest and crosses her legs.e recently had to cut clean and short. He really likes his short, neatly cut hair. He's the student council president after all and needs to keep a good reputation. This includes having everything on fleek on the outside. There is no blemish like bad hair days. This morning, he had his school uniform ironed and stripped his armlet precautionarily around his left upper arm. This armlet should already show from the distance he has an important role at this school. "Why you asked me to appear here, Kunahito-sensei?", asks the silver-haired guest and checks the notebook for a moment, where he can see the file of a new student. They exchange concentrated glances. Light brown meets silver."I was beseeched by our headmaster Shuyona-sensei to contact you because of a newcomer.", explains Kunahito-sensei while she does her tied hair to make sure her hair still fits perfectly. "At this moment he is busy because of a club. If this club won't get new members soon, the club will be disbanded. The headmaster is negotiating with the club president about a deadline."
Megamo Saikou nods wordless and leans forward. He supports his elbows on his knees and takes a closer look at the file of the new student, who's supposed to appear soon. "I asked you to come to my office because a new student will arrive at this school next week. In the first days, you should keep a watching brief over her."
"Why should I do that?"
"Well, she isn't a usual student who just came from another nearby city. She's from Europe."
Megamo Saikou catches his breath and sits up and focuses the guidance counsellor with a concentrated look.
"A student from Europe? Does that mean, I managed to create an international stir for this school? Has my work gradually paid off?", the silver-haired Megamo is thinking for himself with a weak smile. He is overcome with a short amount of pride.
"The thing is", she continues while sitting up, because she doesn't want her back to hurt again. "The name of the student is Kiyomi Wajoō and she isn't a normal student because of her parents. They are running a company which is already world-famous: Wajoō Industries."
His father is planning to sign up trade agreements with this company. However, he couldn't conclude an agreement until that day. Probably it will be possible now if the family moves to the city. Nevertheless, he already tried to sign up trade agreement many years ago, but he failed because of Wajoō Industries. Wajoō Industries refused any agreement categorically. Until this day they still don't know what kind of reasons we're focused, but this time he's sure, no, he's fully convinced he will succeed.
"So, the company is familiar for you. I see...Anyways, the parents chose this school for their daughter and hope for the best education and a positive surrounding with inquisitive students."
"So, I should make the first days easier for her at this school. Is this correct?"
"Sure. Next Monday, she'll have her first school day and I'm expecting absolute perfection and above all a good behaviour. The other students should show themselves from their best side.", demands the guidance counsellor with a strict pitch and stands up to breathe in deeply. "I hope I can rely on you, Saikou-kun?"
Megamo Saikou is checking the already existing files of t
"You can count on me, Kunahito-sensei."At the same time above the clouds on the airplane...
„Mother. Are you sure, everything's going to be fine?", mutters a redhaired girl to her blond mother who annotates for the next conference in Tokyo just this minute. She looks up at her daughter with a tender smile. The redhaired girl faces her mother with a worried look.
"Oh, my little Katie!", she hugs her oldest daughter, who's sitting next to her, long and caressing while stroking through her back. "I clearly understand your nervousness. I'm a bit nervous, too, but please preconceive it: You were prepared for such situations for many years. Linguistic and cultural barriers should be the smallest malady for you."
"But what if I can't find someone with similar interests?", she pouts with her full lips, whereupon the father begins to laugh and strokes his black hair. Her parents are already in their forties, but they seem to be very young to run a world's leading company - A company which improved a great reputation in the groceries industry, but also in catering and gelateria. Sometimes, it could be said the parents are way too young to be real parents, but they managed to raise two daughters and start a business.
"You love to bake and read dramas from the 18th century. You shouldn't worry that much. The headmaster ensured me personally, there are clubs you could join with such interests."Katie looks surprised and blinks away a single tear. A weak smile shows around her mouth.
"Really? Is that true? There are such wonderful clubs, father?"
"Sure, my kitten.", answers the father with a chuckle
"Don't worry, sis. Our dad knows how to handle such stuff.", the whole family hears from the window corner with a long yawn. blond-haired girl who is chilling near the window is Adaline, the little princess of the family. Becausethe big sister is supposed to fulfil the obligation and run the company, the younger sister enjoys attention in another way. She is a hardworking student like her older sister, cares for the household, and yet she has a certain laziness her red-haired sister can never understand. Adaline throws her waist-length blond hair back and braids a simple braid. After that, she grabs her notebook to listen to some music. The sisters look very similar, even if there are about four years between them. Both blue-eyed, both occasionally naive, but very loving children.
"I hope the rest of the flight will be pleasant.", Katie groans with a quiet voice before grabbing her hairbrush to brush her long red hairput her hair in a ponytail. There are still more than ten hours of their flight left, so it isn't that bad to relax at the First class with internet access and enough space for sleeping. Also, there is always someone to ask for a glass of lemonade or when you're hungry. Of course, there can be disadvantages being a kid of rich entrepreneurs This luxurious lifestyle can be faced positive and negative – It's a matter of perspective. Sometimes, Katie is sorry that her parents aren't always present for her and her little sister. For the most part, the sisters were raised by relatives or nannies. After all, her mother tried a soften as possible to avoid her absenceIn some days, they nearly couldn't make ends meet.
The company only benefit them to hedge for the future generations and offer their kids a good and, especially, secure life, so they don't have to starve or freeze. The family Wajoō deepens their activities to bridge the rest of the time during the flight. Adaline's and Katie's father is still focused on his notebook and tries not to miss any important detail of the political live conference. Meanwhile, his blond-haired wife still annotates for the upcoming meeting.
Adaline began to listen to some music while communicating with some good friends from Europe. They are planning to visit her at her new home this summer. Although she really misses them, Adaline hopes to meet some new friends at her new school. According to her, they should be friendly and attentive like her friends from Europe. And Katie? What does Katie again?
She worries about not being able to make friends. Her main reason to believe such a failure is she often characterizes her own interests as strange. The result is a shy retreat because of her fear of rejection. young life is about to get upside down. Everything's getting swirled into something completely different. It can be compared to a metaphorical tsunami which decided to take place, so everything changes completely.Theblack-haired father called a stewardess because of his wish to get some coffee. She smiles gentlyand turns to the other members of the family before she meets Katie'sblue-greyish eyes. "You wish something, too?" Thestewardess disappears with quick steps for preparing the drinks as fast aspossible. Not even three minutes later and she returns to bring the freshlybrewed coffee to the gentleman and the lemonade to the red-haired daughter.
"I hope you enjoy. If there is something you wish, you can always call me.",with these words she turns away from the family devotes herself to other first-classpassengers.
"Although there aren't so many passengershere at the First class.", Katie chuckles because of her reasoning anddrinks one sip of the light sour lemonade. "Isn'tthere a proverb about lemons? Something like 'When life gives you lemons, makelemonade'? Maybe I could transfer it to my current life situation and use itfor some optimism. My adventure in Japan begins when I'm at the next schoolnext week and can tell that I'm officially a new student of the Akademi High."If there are some issues like grammatical mistakes or problems of understanding, please don't be shy and contact me.
