Scars.

When you are hurt it leaves a deep cut.
And I'm not talking something small like someone saying your drawing is a bit too colorful or your singing is off key.
I'm talking about the pain that leaves your heart feeling crushed and thrown into a rut.
I'm talking about the pain that makes you cry alone with no one to see.

I'm talking about the pain that leaves scars.
Leaving you feeling like your heart would do better under chains and bars.

The pain that not only leaves scars deep within.
But sometimes the pain leaves scars on your skin.

Cutting away at your skin like paper won't end pain.
Not really, it only leaves your pain to someone else who is just barely all but sane.

Your scars are not to be ashamed of, even if they're caused your crying.
To say you are not talented, beautiful or good enough would just be lying.

Nobody is perfect, no matter what they say or do.
But everyone has their talents, that includes you too.

You are special, you are good enough, and if that is the case of your pain?
Read this and wash away your pain like it's a pesky stain.

Because you are always special to one person or another.
And to that person your life is something that you should not smother.

Dry your tears, love.
Send your fears to the wind as if it grew wings like a dove.

If someone tells you you are not good enough.
Not pretty, smart or good enough.

Just smile and know that they would not be saying this if they were confident in their own lives.
So, dear there is no need to take out your knives.

Their words may leave scars, and scars never heal.
But listen up honey because here is the deal.

Your scars may remain like a Dept yet to be paid.
But do not draw blood to pay their tolls.

Because the thing about scars, dear?

Is that they fade.
