Long ago, in the distant year 17, in the kingdom of Montegaras, there lived a man named Hector. He was a man of many faces—handsome, charming, and wealthy beyond measure. Hector was a nobleman, with lands, riches, and the kind of allure that made women swoon. Yet, despite his many women, it was not just any woman who caught his eye—it was a woman whose beauty surpassed even the tales of goddesses.

Her name was Althea. She appeared to the world as an ethereal vision, a woman who seemed to glow with an inner light. Her hair was the color of midnight, cascading like a silken river down her back. Her eyes were as bright as the stars, and her voice was so sweet it could make the heavens weep. To anyone who gazed upon her, it was clear that she was no ordinary woman.

What the people did not know, however, was that Althea was not mortal at all. She was a goddess, sent from the heavens, not to rule or to command, but to experience the depth of love as mortals knew it. She had walked among men in disguise, wishing to learn the raw, unguarded emotions that only humans could experience. She had chosen Hector, a man known for his heartless pursuit of pleasure, as her companion. For it was he who would teach her the true nature of love—and its inevitable pain.

Their marriage was nothing short of a spectacle. Hector, for all his faults, was utterly captivated by Althea's beauty, and the people of Montegara marveled at their union. For a time, Hector was faithful, consumed by the goddess's allure. But, as is often the case with men of his nature, the fire of his desire began to fade. He was a man who thrived on the thrill of conquest, the fleeting pleasure of new love, and soon, his eyes strayed.

Hector began courting other women. He was careful at first, hiding his affairs in shadows, thinking that Althea would never know. But Althea, a goddess with senses far beyond the reach of mortal men, felt the betrayal in her heart. She saw the secret glances, the stolen moments. And with each passing day, the weight of her grief grew heavier. She had given him all her love, and yet he had squandered it for the sake of his own selfish desires.

When Hector returned home one evening, expecting the usual warmth of his wife's embrace, he found Althea standing in the center of their grand hall. Her back was straight, her face like a calm sea, though a storm brewed beneath her calm exterior. The air around her shimmered with an energy that Hector had never felt before. It was as though the very earth was holding its breath, waiting for her to speak.

Althea's voice was soft, but it carried the weight of a thousand storms. "Hector," she said, her tone cold, "you have betrayed me."

Hector, unable to hide the guilt in his eyes, stepped forward, ready to speak words of apology, but before he could say anything, Althea raised her hand, halting him.

"You thought you could use me," she said, her voice now echoing with the power of a goddess. "You thought my love was something you could take and toss aside when it no longer suited you. But love, Hector, is not something to be played with. It is the force that binds the universe together. And for your betrayal, you and all who come after you will feel its weight."

With that, the room seemed to tremble. Althea's form began to glow even brighter, her beauty intensifying, but it was not the beauty of love—it was the beauty of wrath, of divine power unleashed. Hector stood frozen, his heart pounding in his chest as Althea slowly lifted off the ground, floating several feet above the floor, her eyes now burning with celestial fire.

"I curse you, Hector, and all your descendants," she declared, her voice thundering like a storm. "As you have turned from love, so shall your bloodline be bound by it. They will fall in love, deeply and completely, but never be able to escape it. No matter what happens—whether that love is returned or not—they will be chained to it. They will love until their hearts break, and even death will not free them. They will never know the peace of falling out of love."

Hector's breath caught in his throat. He had no words. He had never imagined such a fate.

"Know this, Hector," Althea continued, her voice softening but still filled with an unearthly power. "You will live with the weight of this curse, but your descendants will carry it far longer than you. The love you have destroyed will never be undone, and they will forever feel the pain of a love that will not fade."

And with that, she vanished. The light around her died away, leaving only the echo of her words in the still air. Hector stood alone, in the silence of his own guilt, realizing too late the true cost of his actions.
