The mourning's curse, the morning's song,
To both or none we must belong.
The brightness keeps the dark at bay,
But for this hope we all must pay.
Streaks of dawn greet every day,
Slicing into fading grey.
The moon it smiles at the night,
The stars creating peaceful light.
The light it lights the people eyes,
But each reflection fades and lies.
For now the darkness grows and screams,
Making nightmares out of dreams.
The blackness into brightness seeps,
The streaks of dawn fail and weep.
The darkness sweet, the darkness bleak.
Stuck on repeat, a silent shriek.
The sky reflects the darkened eyes,
Behind their lids the shadow lies.
The moon is swallowed by the sky,
The stars must also sink and die.
The light is gone the night is here.
Don't let the shadow see your fear,
Dry and bury every tear.
To morning's curse, to mourning's song,
To both or none we must belong.
