"Wow mom, this house is really big," I said, wide-eyed.
"I know, can you believe the company paid for everything too? God."
I rolled my suitcase into the spacious house and smiled.
Maybe this won't be so bad after all.
Saying bye to Stinky Sammy wasn't too horrible...it was kind of relieving.
"Ok mom we're unpacked, will you take me to the mall like you promised?" I begged. "Hen, we just landed. Come on, give me a break."
"Well, I call the biggest room then!" I teased.
"Save the master for me and your dad!" she reminded me.
"But he's not even here, gosh mom!"
She went silent and I knew I hit a wrong note.
Dad left us a note telling us about California and his opportunity. He left about a month ago saying he would meet us here.
If we decided to come.
But my mom didn't have a job, so it's not like we really had a choice...
We've called him about 1000 times, but he hasn't answered. I have NO idea where my dad is and I haven't seen him in a month.
I hope he's ok. And alive.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"It's ok, it's fine. If you still wanna go shopping go take a shower and find something cleaner to wear." And with that she rolled her suitcase into the bedroom and closed the door.My life is really sucking right now.
