Every time I tried to ask Raven out this past month she said no. I wish I knew why she has trust issues because I genuinely liked her.

Things at home didn't get any better. Today I was at home sick and my birth giver wasn't there. I didn't have the energy to clean up the bottles of alcohol on the floor or the smellof vodka that the house reeked of.

Raven's POV

Today at school something felt missing, I just had this feeling of absence and didn't know what it was. I went around first and second periods with that odd feeling. I decided to just ignore it.

At lunch, I met up with the others. I started eating then Ella asked "Are you ok, you seem a bit distant?"

Then suddenly, it hit me; Jackson! He wasn't pestering me about going out with him. And I hadn't seen or heard about him at school. This is weird.

I kept debating going to see him in my head, part of me saying you should, because this is unusual and the other part saying no don't you don't want him to think you're interested.

Suddenly I was snapped out of my thoughts by a voice shouting,"RAVEN FOREST LOCKWOOD," Sky, figures.

"What?" I asked.

"I've been saying your name these past five minutes, what are you thinking about?" Sky asked.

"Nothing,"

"Raven I know you as well as you know yourself, what's going on? You can talk to me," she pressed. I caved.

"Fine," so I told her.

"Oooh someone has a crush," she said.

"No I don't," I said defensively.

"Who are you trying to convince, me or yourself?" She asked. Then I started questioning everything.

The bell rang and I went to class.

Towards the end of the class the teacher said, "Raven could you please take Jackson's homework and give it to him?" Well now I have an excuse to go.

"Sure," I replied. But I had this weird feeling, as if I was about to discover something and I wasn't gonna like it.

..............

Sky's POV
Rav apparently had to go to Jackson's place; something about homework, personally I still believe she likes him.

Well anyway I went home and binge watched Netflix and stuffed on cookies, ah my life.

Don't get me wrong being single is amazing, no guys, no drama no worries. It's just that sometimes I'd like to have someone.

...............

Raven's POV
I arrived at Jackson's house and knocked, no answer. I tried the door, and, to my surprise it was open.

I stepped inside and was overtaken by a smell, a damn awful one for that matter. The whole place reeked of alcohol. I yelled "Anyone home?" No reply.Figures.

I went upstairs and opened a door. It was a bedroom, it looked like a typical teenage bedroom. I figured it was Jackson's room.

Suddenly, I heard music play, it sounded like a guitar. I followed the sound and stumbled across another room in the attic. It was a really pretty room with posters, pictures and drawings on the walls, and in the middle of it all was Jackson, playing the guitar. I was shocked to see his tear streaked face.

Without thinking I ran and hugged him, he tensed but then relaxed and hugged me back.

"What are you doing here?" He asked me.

"Mr Brown asked me to bring you the homework for tomorrow,"

We stared at each other for a while before he said "So where's the homework?"

"Are you ok?" I asked sincerely.
..........

I tried to not cry and break down, yeah, I failed. She just hugged me and rubbed my back, when I finally stopped crying, she asked "Better?"

"Yeah, you won't tell anyone about this will you?" I asked worriedly.

"Your secret is safe with me,"she said.

I looked down, "Wanna talk about it?" She asked.

"No," I replied.

"That's ok,"

"You know what, whenever things get too hard here come over to my place, I'll leave the window open for you," she said

"Are you sure? I don't want to be a bother?" I asked.

"Positive,"
..............

It's been a few months since that day in my room and Raven actually warmed up to me. I went to her place whenever things at home got too much and she held me. I left early next morning so her sister never suspected a thing.

One day I asked her "What happened to your parents," she immediately stiffened.

"I'll tell you when you tell me about yours," she said simply.

"I promise I'll tell you one day," I told her.

"Me too" she replied.

I didn't feel like I had much to add to this chapter that is why it might be a bit short.

I had a block and didn't know where I want this story to go and I'm still trying to figure it out and I'm trying to update more often though I don't guarantee anything
