Creeper's Wallow

Prologue

Crackle...Boom! It sounded up ahead in the dark forest. The ancient chanting of a group of people arose in the area. Demonic even, as light drew dim, the light was bursting in the darkness of the night.

A gang of sorts was chanting in front of a pentagram. Of course, there was many heights and ages varying in this group. Some old, some young as a kindergartener. Some tall and small for people but all for one purpose, the matter of the dark arts...

Their master, a man named Simon Olson had been keeping this cult in the family name for generations. He bore two children and a wife, but loss was common in their home due to their business and ways of life. The wife, Taylor Lewis, was a fair maiden, she bore locks of blonde and was the town's seamstress. Despite having a cultist for a husband, she didn't participate in these unholy activities. But, years after their daughter was born and their son barely a toddler, Taylor's death struck them all. She was murdered by a man unknown to them but said to had been a gangster against their doing.

A child stood in the middle, tied down by some chains. She was weeping and crying and begging to be out of there. But, she was their sacrifice. She was always used for their attempts at the occult and witchcraft in this wretched place. Dark substance surrounded the child and held her by her chains as she flailed and kicked around, but she was silenced when it grabbed her left eye and yanked out her eyeball. Her screaming stopped as she looked to her other eye to find nothing, but gushing blood running out her cheek. The dark matter let her go and she went falling to the floor, limp. The leader picked her up and held her dear. "There there, Rei, now you are one with the demons..."

She was the daughter of Simon. Rei was stuck with him forever until the end. As she lay in her bed, healing from the wound, she was sleeping with her baby brother. It was her duty to keep him safe.
