Thirteen days before Sasha's husband was to return Nova having been told about Sasha's husband's quirky aversion to black socks, planted them, along with a few of her undergarments among his neatly folded clothes.

Ten days before Sasha's husband was to return Nova retrieved Sasha's mail for her removing an envelope marked with her condominium's name and emblem.

Five days before Sasha's husband was to return. While Sasha went inside to get her nails done. Nova lingered before following her lover inside to attach the condominium's mail to the adjuster beneath the driver's seat.

Four days before Sasha's husband was to return. Nova asked Sasha if she could run back in the house to get her salad mix. She went into Sasha and her husband's bedroom. She removed one of a few guns that Sasha's husband kept in a metal box at the top of his closet. She placed it at the bottom of her paper grocery bag. Placed her lettuces on top, and ran out to the car.

The day before Sasha's husband was to return Nova called in a favor. She'd gone to see a buddy of hers, a military officer that owed her for a mess she'd cleaned up for him. A man accused him of sexual assault then magically changed his story thanks to Nova. "I need you to call this number from the office of returning service members.". "Tell the woman, Sasha Hillard, that her husband Damon Hillard's return will be delayed one day.".

"Why not a week?", he asked Nova. "A week will look too suspicious when it's all said and done.". Her buddy didn't ask anymore questions. He could tell by the look in her eye that he didn't want to know anymore than he already did.

The day that Sasha's husband returned. Nova planted Sasha's husband's gun in the bushes outside her bedroom window. She lowered all the blinds except those of the bedroom's single large window. She meticulously adjusted the blinds so that they wouldn't appear to be too open, but would allow for clear viewing from the outside.

Damon lay dying, paramedics weren't arriving soon enough. Distraught, he didn't have the will to fight.

The night that Sasha's husband returned home was the last night Sasha's husband would return home to her.

The women lay in the brightly lit bedroom. Simply smiling and laughing playing with eachother's fingertips.

"What was that noise?". Sasha asked.

"You scared of a little gun fire?", Nova questioned.

Sasha smiled. She was comforted by the fearlessness that shown in Nova's eyes. She was also blind to the danger that also gleamed.

The music played. Marvin Gaye was crooning "Distant Lover. So many miles away...Sugar how can you treat my heart so mean and cruel...Do you want to hear me scream, plead....Baby please please".
