Emily's POV

I was on my way over to the girls until spotting Paige at her locker. I felt bad for leaving her like that last night, she didn't do anything wrong, she didn't deserve to be left. I approached her, hoping she'd look past my little gaffe and forget about it.

I tapped her shoulder. "Paige, sorry about last night, just needed the extra study time."

"It's fine. You're sure it was just the test?" she sighed.

"It's really not. And yeah, I'm sure." My voice shook.

I could tell she knew something was up.

She looked away and groaned. "Alright, don't worry about it," she grabbed my hand, "just kiss me."

Her words surprised me, but nonetheless, I proceeded to satisfy her command.

I cupped her face, and forced my lips onto hers.

Alison's POV

It was day two of me being back at school, so I was still kind of lost.

After a couple rounds of wandering, I found Spencer, Aria, and Hanna. It was apparent Emily wasn't with them.

"Hey girls." I intruded.

Their heads turned to me. "Hey Ali," they say in unison, "what's up?" Aria added.

"Nothing really, where's Em?" I asked, hiding my desperation.

"She's probably got her tongue down Paige's throat or something" Hanna laughed.

"Hanna." Spencer said with irritation.

"Yeah Han, gross. We should probably go look for her though." Aria joined.

"Sounds like a plan." We started down the hall.

"AHA! I told you so!" Hanna pointed.

I fix my eyes onto what Hanna was pointing at.

My heart dropped. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, Emily was locking lips with Paige.

I didn't feel well at all. I rushed to the bathroom, my eyes began to water. I locked myself into a stall, and let the tears flow.

The bathroom door opened, and before I knew it, someone was banging on my stall's door.

"Occupied." I sniffled.

"Ali! Open up, it's me, Aria. What's wrong?"

"I'm fine," I say, holding back the pain in my voice.

"It's okay to express your feelings, Ali, you can tell me anything, I'm here for you."

I wiped away my tears, and let her in.

She pulled me in for a tight hug. "So are you going to tell me why you're crying?"

"No. Ugh. I'm not even sure why I'm crying."

"Well from what I saw, you kind of broke down after you saw Emily with Paige.. Is there something we don't know about? About you and Em?"

My eyes bulged at her words.

"What? No, no, of course not. Emily's with Paige.. Isn't she?"

"Well obviously, but that doesn't mean you don't have feelings for her."

I was silent. Maybe she was right. Maybe I did have feelings for her, I just wasn't aware of them yet.

"Well do you?"

"To be honest Aria, I have no idea. All I know is that I can't stand seeing her with Paige. I don't know if it's because of the history between Paige and me, or if it's that I'm starting to think of Emily as more than just a friend. It just hurts me to see them together." My voice was brittle, tears streamed down my face.

"Hey, don't worry about it," she brushed my face. "Take your time to figure out how you're feeling. If you need anything, I'm here for you. We all are."
