Rubbing back my tired eyes,
lunch from two weeks back flashed.No one looked exactly happy
when I had casually slipped into your table.
Not Reid.
Not Elena.
Not my "friends".You couldn't fight back the smile though.
"I was wondering," I had started,
leaning teasingly closer.
My heart h u r t with the close proximity.
I realised
that to outer eyes, it might look like
we were f l i r t i n g.I stopped when Elena breezed in and sat beside me,
hands possessively on my knees.And of course, Reid had scooted uncomfortably closer too.
"Say, Artis," Reid whispered, ignoring me,
"would you go to the winter formal with me?"I remember your h o n e y b r o w n eyes glancing at me.
But for once, I felt blank.Elena's hands on my knees tightened
and before we knew, before I knew
we were both going to the dance.But it just wasn't with the two of us.
