Why Me?!

"Dylan you missed my birthday!!" my sister shouted with  tears in her eyes. I missed her party because I lost track of time while shopping. Yes, I like shopping. Sometimes my own mother thinks I was supposed to be a girl. I have a girly figure, I help out with the little kids reading at the library, I enjoy shopping, and all my friends are girls. I get mad at her every time she points it out though. "I'm sorry! I was.... looking for a gift! Yeah..... then I rushed home when I realized I was missing your party!" I lied. She looked at me sniffled. "R-really? Because if that's right, you can go back and buy my gift!" This 6 year old managed to spin my words to benefit her. "Finnneee." She immediately perked up after I gave in.

~Time Skip~

I pulled into the mall 10 minutes later, thinking about what to buy Little Lola. I walked into the mall, heading straight for the toy shop. When I got there I scooted to the "Baby Boo Comes to Life!" Dolls. I grabbed one that looked like Lola, but decided to pick out more to make up for skipping her party. Not even 2 minutes later I heard a scream, followed by a gunshot and breaking glass. Then silence... I crouched half-way behind an over sized teddy bear, leaving a perfect view to the window. I saw 2 dark figures with guns walk in front of the window. They made their way into the toy shop, threatening anyone who dared speak or move. They got to the isle I was in and the smaller (But still big)one looked straight at me. I guess my white hair didn't match the brown of the teddy. He whispered to his partner. "Teen girl to your left. She looks scared sir." He then called louder, "Come out!" I shuffled out grabbing my arm."Look at me." the larger one ordered. I did, and he scared me so much I started to cry. "P-please d-don't hurt me! My little sister Lola is waiting for me at home... I just came to buy her a present..." The first one looked unconformable, but the bigger one looked at me harder. "This ain't no girl! It's the girlyest guy I ever seen though." He kicked my side and I curled into a ball. "Da- Sir that's enough!"

"Sir" walked to the cash register and opened it. A teenage girl got up and ran to the doorway. "RUN EVA!" Her mother yelled. I heard a bang and covered my ears, watching Eva fall to the ground. "EVA NO!" The woman yelled. The man pointed the gun at the woman, making her shut up with tears running down her face. I sat up and hugged the large bear. I noticed the smaller had his eyes on me, watching my discomfort and fear. I weakly waved and wiped my own tears.  I wonder what moms doing? Maybe baking pie! If I get home I'll have to nab some, yummy. When the leader spoke I jumped. "The police are coming boy. You know the plan." They both ran out and headed for the last stores in the mall.
