Shattered: The Price to Pay

Chapter 22

Five hours later and Izuku and Bakugou were walking to school, going early to practice in the training field before the festival. "Hey!" Bakugou grabbed Izuku's hand, pulling him over to the side of the street to a food vender having already set up outside of UA. Multiple stalls were up and running, gradually being surrounded by people who came to the festival. "Remember this?" Bakugou pointed up at a spiral of bamboo that went from one end of the cart to the other, passing the front twice in front of them.

Izuku smiled. "How could I forget. Nagashi Somen, it used to be your favorite dish when we were younger."

"Izuku-kun!" Uraraka suddenly appeared behind them and bounced over, pulling a reluctant Ida over with Kirishima following along, laughing at the spectacle. "You like Somen too! Kirishima absolutely loves it!"

Izuku smiled wider, an idea seeping into his brain. "Well, actually I do love it, but Bakugou was the one that first introduced me to it. He is absolutely obsessed with it." Bakugou smiled threateningly at Izuku, but the smaller boy kept going. "There was this one time where he had a giant bamboo slide surrounding his whole backyard for a birthday party, but whenever he wanted some noodles, he could never catch them because they were too fast! It was hilarious!"

Kirishima clapped his hand over his mouth to prevent laughing, but he failed and Bakugou blushed like crazy. "Don't worry Bakugou, when I was younger I couldn't catch any either." Bakugou just turned away as Kirishima smiled at him.

"Well!" Izuku had done his matchmaking for the day, now he was hungry. "Time to get some food."

The vendor only helped along, as he had seen the whole spectacle and Izuku couldn't have set it up any better. "Hello you two." The vendor gestured at Kirishima and Bakugou and then tapped a sign above his head and Izuku giggled evilly as he saw what was on it. "There is a discount for couples. If you know what I mean."

Bakugou's face flared bright red and he tried to protest, but Kirishima quickly stopped him. "Of course sir. We would be glad for the discount." Then, to the red Bakugou he whispered, "I'm nearly broke. So go with it. I want those noodles."

"Wait a minute. You two don't seem much like a couple, I'm not sure why I ever thought so." Izuku was about to burst from holding in a laugh and Uraraka just watched, enraptured by the whole scene.

Kirishima wrapped his arm around Bakugou, grabbing his waist and pulled him closer, smiling at the vendor. Izuku had no clue how neither of them had figured out that it was a joke yet, but it could be due to the fact that the vendor had a completely straight face, his glittering eyes the only giveaway. To everyone's surprise, Bakugou grabbed Kirishima's face and firmly pressed his lips onto the red head's, closing his eyes as Kirishima returned the surprise kiss. When they finally pulled apart, Izuku was laughing into his sleeve quietly and the vendor was smiling slyly. "You can have the noodles for free. It's on me." He then waved the group forward to get some food.

Izuku shot forward, breaking the embrace of the two teens and grabbed a cup and noodles, adding some hot sauce the way he liked it and ran away from the grasp of an angry Bakugou, laughing. He waited a few stalls away as the rest of the group got their food and slowly mixed the noodles around the cup, getting every spot on the noodles covered in the sauce. "Hey you." Izuku looked up but didn't recognise the person in front of him, their face just didn't match up with anybody he had seen before, It looked like Todoroki, but it couldn't be. For one, there was no scar over one of his eyes. Izuku nervously stuck a big bite of the noodles into his mouth and stared at the guy in confusion as he glared at the white and blue haired teen, the uncanny likeness to Todoroki throwing him for a loop. "Are you even listening to me?" Izuku shifted nervously, and not knowing what else to do, he shoved the rest of his noodles into his mouth. "HEY!"
