Hi guys

I am really really sorry for making you wait so long.

Thank you so so much for the appreciation you showed on part 1. I am glad you guys like it!

This chapter is quite short and I am not entirely happy with it, but I hope it's still better than nothing.

I will also try to work on the other unfinished stories, but no guarantee!

I hope you enjoy this one.

Here you go:

The next day almost ended up as a disaster. While planning for the undercover mission they discovered how the guys they had to catch were a couple, owning an underground organization, selling luxurious artistry and jewelleries they have stolen from museums and auction places in advance.

According to their captain, the most efficient and easy way to go at it would be if Avni and Neil would go undercover as a couple as well.

They both looked at each other in shock.

"What? With this one?", they both exclaimed at the same time, pointing at each other. "Yes, is there a problem?", the captain asked, one brow raised high.

Both looked at each other and then back to the captain, shaking their head, answering his question without saying anything.

Back on their own, they almost started arguing the second the door fell shut.

Neil's POV:

"Seriously, what the hell, man?", she asked annoyed, referring back to my suggestion about how there will be this gala event where they could go to, to get to know the suspects and that Avni would have to dress nicely for once. "I was just trying to be helpful", I said smirking, enjoying how she indeed reacted the way I wanted her to react. "Helpful? My foot, was it really necessary to talk about what I should wear?", she almost yelled at me. I just shrugged my shoulders and couldn't help it. 'Cute', I thought randomly – 'Wait, what? Have you gone mad, Khanna?', I asked myself, furrowing my brows together.

She was still ranting about some other things they talked about, but my mind was busy thinking about from where this previous thought might have come from. That's when I saw her hand in front of my face. "Khanna!", she almost shouted at my face.

"Huh?", I asked confused. She rolled her eyes and sat down on the chair opposite to me separated by a long table. "We should at least get our stories right", she said, to which I was just staring at her even more, as I didn't understand. "Our story?", I asked.

"Oh dear, I will get a nervous breakdown by the end of this", she again rolled her eyes and sighed. "Yes, our story – if we were to act like a couple, we should probably have a story about how we met and so on, can you please use your brain for once?", she explained ripping a few papers from the block and slid it towards me. "We need to note it down and know it by heart, otherwise it won't be authentic."

"Oh, like your sense of fashion?", I blurted out, biting my tongue the second the words left my mouth.

She looked at me for a second and scoffed. "Will you please stop wasting my time and start to take notes", she bit back, not buying into what I just told her. Finding it odd that she didn't give in, I slowly took the paper and started to write down what she suggested...

Something was really fishy...

.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.

The next evening was already night of the event they were to attend. I stood there in a fitted suit, all black with Bordeaux red, thin lines on the sleeves, white ruffled shirt and a bow tie waiting for Avni to come out of the investigation room in which she ran into about 10 minutes ago with Riya.

Another 10 minutes later, as I was about to check on them, the door flung open and I stared at the sight in front of me. My eyes ranked wandered from her head to toe, throat becoming dry at the vision.

She was wearing an off-shoulder Bordeaux red dress that hugged every curve of her body perfectly, the gown reached till the floor, but there was a side slit that exposed her leg till right under her left knee and showed off her black stilettos with cords around her ankles. The lacework on her sleeves looked elegant and my breath got stuck in my throat as she turned her back to me, to ask Riya something. The dress was backless, everything was just held together by a thin red band right at her shoulder blades. Her hair was braided to the side, to not cover up her back, and the red of the dress was also apparent on her lips.

It was an underestimation to say that I was shocked.

Only when I heard a snapping sound close to my face, I realised that she was standing in front of me, trying to get my attention. "We have to leave, now!", she said, pushing me out of the station to the taxi that was already waiting for us...
