Kim Yongsun knew there was something weird about the way her and Moon Byulyi interacted, it was different than with the two maknaes. Byulyi was clingy to the point of exhaustion and touched her even when the cameras were rolling which was frustrating. When the cameras were off however...
The secret touches, the longing looks... it exceeded the boundaries of friendship and Yongsun was scared of just how much she enjoyed it. Longed for it even.
This longing though, it wasn't in the natural order of things. Perhaps if Byulyi had been born a man - if herself had been - this could've worked.
But "could-haves" mean nothing, that's why she has to be cruel. Not only to Byulyi, but to her own feelings.
