Tyler Peirce knew this was coming, knew that there was a great possibility of his plan backfiring. He grasped his bleeding, stinging arm as he ran, every breath becoming harder to take than the last. The adrenaline rush that had come over him earlier was almost completely gone. They were gaining on him quickly. Was there even any point in trying anymore? His lungs threatened to collapse as he still continued to speed his way across the forbidden territory.

"Captain!" Tyler heard his code name being called out, and looked over his right shoulder to see Colton, two police holding him back as his strength visibly strained against their locked arms. Colt was aware of the tazers, which he eyed in horror, then looked at the spray cans laying abandoned at his feet in ultimate defeat. The paint that had made it's way onto the gigantic pillar was already smearing in the guards efforts to rid it of the rainbow Colton had been embellishing.

Tyler turned back and continued racing, trying to find an escape. All of Kaylie's advice seemed to slip away from his mind now, lost in Tyler's exceeding panic. Where the hell was the gate?!

He could hear the sirens now, loud and shrill, echoing in his ears. A helicopter hovered above him, it's massive winds sending his hair flying every which direction.

"Kaylie!" Tyler screamed into his microphone piece she had given him hours earlier, but he never got a response. Had they taken her, too? His blood ran cold and his heart pounded in terror at the thought. Forgive me, Kaylie. In truth, he had never intended for any of this mayhem to happen, didn't want any of them to get caught in this sick mess. Now it was too late.

"Halt!" He heard a police yell into a megaphone. "Stop now, and no one gets hurt!"

Yeah, right. Tyler thought sarcastically. As if we're all not in enough shit already.

Tyler squinted his eyes as he neared a new obstacle in front of him. Wait...was that the gate? The same gate Kaylie explained to him before, when it was all still just a silly, innocent idea? His hopes raised higher and higher in triumph until...it was the wrong gate. Not the exit gate. Just another wall to keep him trapped. Throwing his head back, Tyler screaming in frustration.

Lights flashed, red and blue overtaking his senses. Blinding white beams made him cover his face in anguish, and he felt his pace slow. This was it. This was the end. All of him and his boys' hardworking efforts for absolutely nothing.

Tyler cried out as he felt an immediate sting puncture his back. Had he been shot? His hand flung to feel the bullet, no doubt covered in his own rebellious blood by now, but all he felt was a small, distinct dart.

A dart?

His thoughts drifted away carelessly, and before he could comprehend his actions, his body gave in and collasped on the cold, damp grass.

In the darkness of the night, he could make out the outlines of the police, only a few feet behind him; he felt the impact when they toppled on top of him, pinning him down, preventing him from any attempt of escape. They were already handcuffing his wrists.

"You must have some pretty big balls, kid," the policeman sneered with disgust in Tyler's aching ears. "Thinking a little shit like you could outrun us."

Tyler considered landing a swift kick to the man's own pair of manhood, before realizing he couldn't even move his own fingers. He felt as if his entire body was going numb. His vision faded, treatening to engulf him in complete darkness.

A second policeman grabbed Tyler by the hair, pointing his masked face towards the sky, and swiftly pulled his hood back. At once, Tyler saw a blurred man with a gun aimed directly at his face in warning. Tyler knew the man, and wanted nothing more to do with him. He was the reason, or at least, part of it, that the plan had ever existed in the first place.
