Catriona stood on one side of the field as she watched Athena stretch. She followed her slow, meaningful movements. She would have taken it for a dance had she not been familiar with the movements herself. "You ready?" asked Athena. Catriona gave her a thumbs up. Irene tapped Gabriella's shoulder so she could put up a barrier. She nodded in response and the others watched as a barrier, slightly larger than before, formed on the field."Why is the field bigger this time?" asked Lucas.
"To give them more room to try new things out if needed." Answered Irene. The sky rumbled as Irene signaled the fight to start. Athena's eyes turned a deep red. She smiled mischievously as she positioned herself to attack. Catriona opened her mouth and let out a high pitched scream. The ultrasonic vibrations caused a trench to form from where she stood all the way to where Athena was. Athena jumped and stayed airborne as she extended her arms outward.
"If Ate Athena was a normal human and she stayed where she was, she would have been dead. Even from that distance if Ate Cat kept her scream at that amplitude." Whispered Gabriella to Mark and the other boys. Two magic circles that glowed black formed on opposite sides of her head. From there a sword emerged from each circle.
"No way. She wouldn't actually hit her with swords, would she?" Asked Jaehyun. Irene smiled before answering, "She wouldn't do it if she knew Cat couldn't handle what she throws at her. But I mean, I guess she would. She's done it before to Apollo multiple times and he's fine." Jaehyun looked at Irene in disbelief hoping she would say it was a joke but nothing followed. He turned to face the fight again to watch. Athena pointed her arms towards Catriona and the swords flew towards her. Catriona dodged and watched as the two swords etched themselves into the place where she stood. Catriona looked up at Athena and aimed at her as she let out another scream. Athena moved out the way and swooped down to knock Catriona down from behind. Again she had dodged gracefully. Athena stood towards the edge of the barrier and opened another magic circle. This one was much larger and was placed right in front of her. Three swords came from it and in the air was the audible whizz the swords made. Catriona screamed at the swords and they shattered before they could even come near her. Exclamations were heard from the crowd as the sword fragments fell to the ground. As Catriona was catching her breath, Athena charged at her, but effectively held her ground by blocking Athena's attack. They proceeded to engage in hand-to-hand combat. The exchange went on for minutes, neither one backing down or showing any signs of exhaustion. Any sweat that had dribbled down was washed away as it began to rain again. Jaehyun watched in awe as the two were locked in battle. Their movements were swift, fluid, and elegant. He didn't expect such fighting prowess from Catriona. Nor did he expect that her powers would be so polarized from her usual, quiet self. The fight seemed to be a tie as the two were coming close to the time limit. Catriona took in a breath as she dodged a head kick from Athena and released. Athena was thrown back to the opposite side of the field. Athena fell on her side and rolled over only stopping when her back hit the barrier. She groaned in pain as she propped herself on her elbows. She was sure her eardrums popped because her ears were in pain even though they've already healed at this point. That was thankfully the only damage as Catriona held back her scream. For any normal human, that would have been enough to kill them at that proximity. She heard Catriona exclaim, "Sorry! I didn't mean for it to be that strong." Athena laughed and replied, "It's all good. You shouldn't apologize to your opponent you know." Athena stood up and put a hand over one ear and winced a little.
Athena smirked as ten magic circles of different sizes appeared next to her. This time, it wasn't just swords but axes, maces, and spears. She launched them all at Catriona who dodged each one without leaving a scratch on her. She made her way to Athena to engage in another melee fight. She had to force herself to stop when two giant swords fell and buried themselves in front of Athena. The swords were roughly a foot wide and ten feet tall. Athena flew to the top of one of the swords and perched herself there. She was poised to launch herself at Catriona but Irene whistled thus ending the match. "It's a draw." Irene declared. Athena jumped down to where Catriona was as all the weapons that had now been scattered across the field dissipated.
