Tsuna groaned as he blearily opened his eyes to the blaring of his alarm. His head felt like it had been hammered repeatedly by Reborn's ten ton mallet. Of course he knew that wasn't the case, Reborn was in Italy attending an important alliance meeting with Nono. Slowly seating himself upright he felt his world spin. He clenched his jaw as he felt his dinner from the night before trying to make its way up his throat. Panicking slightly he hastily stood up before dizzily stumbling his way to his bathroom before promptly emptying the contents of his stomach into the toilet. After about ten minutes he curled up on the cool bathroom floor dry heaving. How Tsuna hated being sick. Not only that but he had an important test today at school. If he missed it he knew when Reborn got back he'd give him hell, so with a groan he pulled his sweaty body off the bathroom tiles and crawled over the the bath. Turning the dial on cold hoping to relieve the burning heat that was coursing through his body. He stripped off his sweaty pajamas before crawling into the bath. He sighed as the cold water helped to ease his aching body. Unfortunately, after a few minutes he suddenly felt like he had been locked in a freezer. Shivers racked his body as he clumsily dragged himself out of the tub. Standing on protesting legs, he grabbed the biggest towel he had and wrapped it around himself hoping to warm up his frozen body. Stumbling his way back into his bedroom he slowly began getting dressed for school. It was rather difficult because his vision was blurry from dizziness and the fever; on top of that he still felt like he was going to throw up even though his stomach was now empty. He distantly heard his mom call out to him from downstairs. Turning his head towards his alarm clock, eyes squinting as he attempted to read the time. 7:45. Just fifteen minutes to get to school. He wouldn't make it in time, and honestly he didn't have enough energy to care. Hibari Kyoya be damned. If he were bitten to death he'd have an excuse to rest in the infirmary until the test. Exiting his room he leaned heavily on the railing as he made his way downstairs. He heard his mom say something, but it sounded all garbled. He mumble a quiet, "Ittekimasu" before slipping on his shoes and grabbing his school bag. He shakily grabbed the door handle before stepping outside. He was slightly surprised when he didn't see Gokudera or Yamamoto. He racked his foggy brain before he realized that they both had gotten in trouble the day before and had to go to school early to clean the classroom.
As Tsuna approached the gates of Namimori middle he was greeted with, "Omnivore, for being late i'll bite you to death." All Tsuna did was turn slightly to stare at his bloodthirsty cloud guardian. He was too tired to feel fear at the threat. Tsuna just kept walking when he felt someone grab his arm. If the world would just stop spinning for a second the sky might have seen the worry in the aloof guardian's eyes. The prefect opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by the sound of the second bell ringing.
"I'd better be going. Don't want to miss another class." Almost hesitantly the brunet's arm was released. The boy then turned as if on auto pilot and walked into the building. As soon as he made it to second period he sat at his desk and fell asleep ignoring the worried stares of Kyoko, Hana, and his storm, rain and female mist guardians.
"Awa!"
"Awada"
Ada Tsu!"
"SAWADA TSUNAYOSHI!" The teen jerked awake before biting his lip resisting the urge to grip his head as it throbbed and the earth spun making his still empty stomach twist and lurch. He let out a small groan as he met the eyes of his 'favorite elite teacher.' "What are you doing falling asleep in my class Dame-Tsuna!? You should be honored that an elite teacher such as myself is blah blah blah." Brown eyes stared dully at his teacher before putting his head back on the table determining that another nap was more important. Of course he didn't get to sleep for long because not five minutes later the brunet had been thrown out of class much to Gokudera's loud disapproval. Sitting on the the windowsill underneath one of the air conditioning vents the sick teen closed his eyes. His heavy body sagging against the glass. A cough escaped him every once in a while as he panted. Even though he was under the air conditioner he was sweating rather heavily. It wasn't long before he felt himself slip into unconsciousness.
He returned to semi-consciousness when he heard footsteps approaching his perch by the window but his intuition gave no signal of danger so he remained in his half-conscious state. He felt a cool hand touch his forehead and then a vaguely familiar voice curse quietly. His brain was too tired to tell who it was. He felt arms slip below his knees and around his shoulders as he was lifted from his seat. He didn't feel alarmed that an unknown person was taking to Kami knows where. Strangely enough he felt the exact opposite. He felt safe so, snuggling closer to the person holding him, he allowed himself to sink back down into the depths of sweet sleep.
The next time he came to the first thing Tsunayoshi noticed was something cool and wet resting on his forehead. He tried to raise his hand to remove whatever was on his forehead, he was freezing, but his body was to weak to move. When he realized this he gave a groan as to voice his discomfort in the only way his feverish and sleep filled mind would allow. The second thing was the voice of the person apparently sitting next to wherever he was laying.
"Omnivore." The brunet stiffened slightly before slowly forcing his eyes open. The light in the room, even though the curtains were closed, caused his head to throb in pain. Tsuna let out another groan before letting his brown eyes meet the silver eyes of his cloud guardian. His eyes squinted slightly when he noticed, was that worry he saw? No, that couldn't be correct. Dismissing the notion as a feverish delusion he let his eyes travel away from the prefect to look at where he was. He eyes widened slightly when he realized he was somewhere very familiar. He was in his room at home.
He opened his mouth to ask how he had gotten here when there was a knock at the door. A moment later the door opened and in stepped Sawada Nana. Her eyes brightened when she saw me awake, "Ara? Tsu-kun you're awake!" She smiled at the brunet.
"Kaa-san?" he asked before having coughing fit. Nana was instantly at her son's side helping him to sit up while rubbing circles on his back as he began hacking his lungs out. Hibari-san got up from his seat on Tsuna's desk chair, which had been pulled up to the teen's bedside, and entered the bathroom. Moments later he returned, a glass of water in hand, which he then handed to the Sky. Deciding it be best not to talk Tsuna instead opted to nod his head in thanks. The ravenette seemed to accept the thanks as he'd grunted back.
Once the coughing had settled Nana helped her son to lay back down. "Tsu-kun, do you remember what happened?" The brunet's nose scrunched up. He knew he had gone to school. He was sick and had fallen asleep in class before getting kicked out. Everything after that was a blur. Slowly the honey eyed boy shook his head.
"Hibari-kun found you sleeping in the hallway at school. You had and still have a very high fever. Noticing that you were sick Hibari-kun was nice enough to have you excused from your classes and to carry you home." Brown eyes widened disbelievingly. The Hibari Kyoya had actually willingly done something nice for someone else!? Turning his head the Sky observed his aloof cloud carefully, and that was when he saw it again. Worry. Hiding behind the steel walls of his heart but it was still there. Maybe the demon of Namimori wasn't so bad after all.
Giving a weak smile the feverish boy held the older male's gaze, no words were needed. That simple look was all that was needed for the messages they shared to be received by the other.
