The Next Day
Sana POV

"What?!" I exclaimed loudly as I processed what Momo just told me.

"What do you mean Jungkook is back with Soo Yeon?" I went back to our whispered tones after being shushed hurriedly by Momo.

"I don't know! Taehyung told me this yesterday after dance, when you went to shower as he didn't want you to know about it since you somewhat have feelings for Jungkook. But I thought I should let you know."

Just then I saw Jungkook walk Soo Yeon to the door of our class and saw Soo Yeon peck his cheek and looked at me with a look of contempt and.. victory? Jungkook looked toward me and gave me a sad smile and then whispered something into Soo Yeon's ear and left.

I thought Soo Yeon would walk over and gloat, but instead she walked to her seat and quietly ignored me.

This was odd... I need to talk to Jungkook.

Taehyung POV

"Jungkook... Why are you back with her! You broke up with her because she was always jealous of other girls and kept trying to keep you to herself! Even from me! That's not all! She injured Sana remember? Just two days ago! She slapped her! But you're getting back with her?" I said exasperatedly.

He gave me a sad look. "You won't understand even if I told you... It doesn't matter anyway. Hey at least I'm out of the way you have a chance with Sana am I right!" Jungkook added the last part jokingly.

"C'mon man don't joke like that! I don't know what's going on with you anymore!" I tried once more.

"Listen, this is something I have to do myself. Taehyung I trust you like my brother but some things I have to do myself... Please. You understand that don't you?" He said pleadingly.

I hated how Jungkook was being but I understood what he meant. When I was pining over Momo and got rejected by her before, I told Jungkook the exact same thing when he tried to help me.

I hated this but I had to respect Jungkook. He was right about something else though. I did have a chance with Sana now...

After School
Jungkook POV

I stood by my locker waiting for Soo Yeon. She said she had to meet her teacher for something. I couldn't really be bothered, but I agreed to walk her home after school on days I wasn't training.

"Jungkook!"

I turned to see who called me.

It was Sana. She looked as cute as ever. Her her high cheekbones as prominent as ever. My heart ached as I thought of how I'll never be with her...

"Hi Sana! What are you doing here? Isn't Taehyung going to walk you back?"

"Nope! I'm going back myself today! Anyway that's not why I'm here. I was going to ask you about uh..." Sana hesitated, but I already knew what she was going to ask.

"About Soo Yeon?" I said. Sana nodded.

"I'm sorry I'm not going to tell you much. It's kinda personal... Sorry." Sana looked disappointed by my reply.

"I just don't understand why you would get back with her... You said she was mean, extreme and also jealous... Why would you get back with her? Even after what happened just two days ago! After what you discovered yesterday!" Sana started raising her voice. The impatience tinging her tone was increasing.
Then I saw her.

Sana POV

"Because he doesn't care about you!"

I turned around and I saw Soo Yeon looking furious.

She walked over quickly and glared at me. Suddenly, she raised her hand about to slap me.

I flinched in anticipation of the hit, but saw Jungkook stopping Soo Yeon's hand with barely contained anger in his face.

"Soo Yeon. Let it go. I'll walk you home." Jungkook said his face now expressionless again. He wore this mask of emptiness easily.

He turned to me.

"Sana. I don't think we should talk about this anymore. We also won't hang out as often since I'm with Soo Yeon now." He took Soo Yeon's hand and walked off. But as he did so he looked back at me without Soo Yeon noticing giving me a sad and apologetic smile before turning back.

My emotions were in turmoil. I couldn't think why Jungkook would be with Soo Yeon! He seemed so sad! My heart clenched a little at this. I did have feelings for Jungkook after all... I guess it would be for naught...
