Chapter 6

Darklight sang beautifully to Darkclaw with the breeze murmuring through the trees. "Sing me another song sis!" Darkclaw yipped. "I don't want to sing anymore, Darkclaw." Replied Darklight in a raspy voice. "My throat hurts from singing you about... What? 20 songs? Anyways, let me rest, its nighttime." She coughed because of her hurt throat. "Aww..." Darkclaw pouted. "But I don't wanna go to bed!" Said Darkclaw back while clawing at the dirt she was standing on. "Bedtime I said." Darklight calmly replied. "Ugh, fine..." Darkclaw trudged to her underground den under a tree. Darklight had dug it out for her and Darkclaw. While seeing Darkclaw's dragon tail slip under the tree, Darklight could have sworn she heard rustling in the bushes. Taking a look behind her... She saw nothing. "Hmm..." She murmured. Darklight heard Darkclaw yelling, "Get in here Darklight! We don't have all night!" Darkclaw poked her head out of the hole. "I'm coming, I'm coming..." Darkclaw trudged to the hole. Suddenly, Darkclaw gasped. Darklight raised her eye brow. "What is it this time-" "Darklight, look out!" Turning around, she could see a cat with tazers tied to her paws, sailing through the air. Darklight tried to dodge it, but she wasn't fast enough. The tazers already had touched her rough skin. Darkclaw hissed at the cat and tried to buck her off, but Darklight had already collapsed onto the forest floor, twitching. "Darklight no!" Tears formed in Darkclaw's eyes. She came out of the hole, but to be face-to-face with the cat. Darkclaw arched her back and hissed. "Who are you!?" The cat didn't seem threated at all. She finally sighed and said, "I'm Taco, you little runt." Taco hissed back. "And that's my food, get out of here before YOU'RE next!" She threatened. Darkclaw hesitated, should she risk it and maybe save Darklight, or should she turn back and run? A shadow hid Darkclaw's face. "Well?" Taco growled. Darkclaw looked up at Taco with fury in her eyes. She stepped back, "Woah, no need to get so worked up." Taco murmured out loud.

"No need to get worked up."

The quote echoed through Darkclaw's mind. "Maybe I do need to get worked up..." Darkclaw replied. "What are you even-" Taco couldn't finish her sentence because Darkclaw tackled her. Taco knew this would happen, so she got up and stomped her back paws, making the tazers turn back on. Without a warning, Taco went and lept through the air, aiming right at Darkclaw. "From the depths of hell I stab at thee!" Darkclaw cringed for half a second at what Taco said. Darkclaw braced herself, expecting pain, but nothing happened. She opened her eyes... Darklight and Darkclaw lived near a cliff edge to see the beautiful view years ago... Well, Darkclaw had enough energy to leap at Taco to defend her little sister. They were both close to the edge. "DARKLIGHT!"

Darkclaw ran toward Darklight.

Taco still had the strength of a human, and Darklight was just as strong.

But...

It was too late.

Darklight tumbled to the edge with Taco, taking them both down.

Everything was in slow motion, all of the memories of Darklight and Darkclaw having a good time as tiny little pups. They were adults now, but Darkclaw still acted childish. Taco yowled as they both fell. Darklight was smiling, proud that she saved her little sister from being killed by a psychopathic British vegan. (PFFFFT lel but she is not a vegan anymore oof) Darklight had faded from some clouds, they were pretty high up. Darkclaw gasped after seeing her caring sister fall off. She broke into sobs, she was going to miss her sister, she had no mom or dad to take care of her now, she was all alone. Darkclaw quit crying and had a serious face. "I'm never going to trust anybody ever again... Not after what the other outsiders did, not to mention Taco..." She gagged after saying 'Taco'. She hated her so much... Darkclaw then walked toward her little hole, and after that day, she became a better hunter, and morphed into the virus she was meant to be.

(After Darkclaw's flashback)

Darkclaw held back tears, with Tree staring right at her. His mouth was open like always... "Ugh... For Pete's sake quit staring at me!" She stomped at the ground. Tree whimpered while backing down, and into the forest. Darkclaw just wants to see her sister again...

Aww... Poor Darkclaw... Anyways, Darklight is the creature you see in the cover, and she is also my corrupted OC! Darkclaw is different, she has completely black fur, she has the same body as Darklight tho. AND Darklight's limbs are also not attached to her body oof.
