That Pointless Night

Your eyes, hazel and bright as day, your hair, blonde and flowing through the air. Your laugh was like a gateway to happiness, and your smile always cheered me up. You were so perfect, and I loved you for it.

No one knows how it happened, no one was there. Were there witnesses? I don't know, all I do know is that she's gone missing, and she's never comes back since. I remember the last time I saw her, she looked so happy, so full of life. I loved her smile, I loved how she looked when she was happy, and god forbid anyone take her happiness from her. Her smile so bright, her hair flowing through the wind, the sunny day flashes in my head any time I think of her, but after that her grave flashes through my mind, her lifeless body, no longer happy, but no longer feeling anything. It was painful when they had found her.

Honestly, I just want to find the damned person who did this to her. My dear Amelia, you deserved better. You had so much in the palm of your hand, and someone yanked that away from you, tore you apart and left you hidden away. Your mother misses you, she mourns your death. Your father doesn't even know much, as he still doesn't recognize you as his daughter. There's something lurking in the park, I know it. It's probably the person who stabbed you. The person who took you from us, and I plan on vengeance.

Two weeks have passed, I miss the days we would go out and sit, talk about life. Before I had met you I had lost all hope, my parents had passed, my uncle and aunt don't care much, and you and your family practically took me in. All my hope was pinned on you, life by your side whether as partners or as friends, but now the only thing keeping me going is the idea of revenge on the one who took you.

"Hey," I heard a voice. "Hey, you!" I turned and saw his face, well part of it at least. "What do you want?" I had replied. I didn't want this. She wouldn't have wanted this. "You were there weren't you? At her funeral?" This line specifically took me by surprise. "I don't remember hearing your voice, and you don't look familiar."

"That's because I wasn't invited, I was just the reason it took place." My heart started pumping, that damned bastard really killed her. I didn't hesitate. I ran at him as fast as possible. It felt like seconds had gone by while I was thinking of what to do, but I didn't actually think, I just did. I beat him senseless, he did retaliate but the adrenaline kept us going, eventually I pulled out my weapon. He looked me in the eyes before I killed him and he said, "your mother misses you, Evan." I snapped, I slit his throat and let him go down. He never confessed, he has nothing to point him to her murder. I'm going to jail for a murder, and Amelia will never get her

That's why it was a pointless night.
