HG High katniss and peeta in modern day

Chapter 10

PEETA POV

I hop in the back of the ambulance and we drive to the hospital and I hold Katniss's lifeless hand the whole way.

We get into the hospital and Katniss is wheeled on a stretcher to a room. I going right behind her but a nurse doesn't let me in.

I quickly call Finnick and the others and tell them where I am. Annie comes rushing in and yells.

"Where is she! Where's Katniss?!"

"Annie! Finnick!" I yell

The whole group comes rushing over and hugs me and starts asking questions.

I already told Finnick what happend so he tries to explain.

"She fell down Peeta's stairs and hit her head." Finnick says

"Come on Finnick we don't believe you." Johanna says

"Tell us the truth." Glimmer says

"I'm going to have to tell them sometime Finnick..." I say

"Ok" he says

"My mother" I say

"Your mother what?" Gale asks

"My mother beats me." I say

"OMG Peeta! Why didn't you tell us!?" Clove asks

"Anyway, Katniss was coming over to dinner tonight and my mom wasn't suppose to be home but she came home early and when she tried to get Katniss out of the house I defended her so my mom was going to hit me with the rolling pin and when I opened my eyes Katniss was on the ground...

She took a hit for me." I say

Just then a doctor comes out.

"Peeta Mellark?" he says

"Yes?" I say

"Katniss is in a coma and we don't know when she will wake up and we tried everything we can, we just have to hope she wakes up." he says

"Can I see her?" I ask

"Of course" he says

I walk into her hospital room and look at her lifeless body and hold her hand and stay with her until I fall asleep.

(2 weeks later)

Katniss still hasn't waken up, I've stayed with her the entire time and the group keeps bringing me homework from school and I do it at the hospital and Prim and Katniss's mother come to visit every other day.

I talk to Katniss because the doctor's say when you're in a come you can hear everything.

"I love you Katniss" I say

"Has she woken up yet?" I hear a voice from the door.

I see it's my dad and he walks in.

"No........ I'm sorry about mom, I know you loved her." I say

"I did love her until she started beating you kids and I didn't love her anymore." he says

The doctor walks in says,

"I'm so sorry but it had been 2 weeks and she still hasn't woken up so we have turn off her life support" the doctor says

"No! no! no! You can't do that! she has to wake up!" I yell

"I'm sorry sir"

"Please no please she will wake up!" I say

"Sir she has been asleeps for 2 weeks she won't wake up." The doctor says

"Please sir just a few more days and she will wa...."

"Peeta?" I hear a soft angelic voice from behind me and I look and see those beautiful silver eyes.

"Katniss? Katniss you're awake!" I say

I run over to the bed and smash my lips into hers.

"I love you" she says

"I love you more" I say
