"𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞."
The entire pack gathered around the new mother, who cradled her tiny newborn in her arms. Derek had just shared the joyful news of his daughter's name, and the pride on his face was unmistakable, his grin stretching from ear to ear. It was a moment filled with warmth and happiness, a stark contrast to the chaos that had just unfolded.
After a challenging delivery, Morgan had been whisked away to the hospital in an ambulance, leaving behind the unsettling presence of the demons that had caused so much trouble. Thankfully, both mother and baby were recovering well, despite the earlier turmoil. However, Scott's dad was still in a tough spot, having been injured by one of the creatures. Melissa reassured everyone that he would heal in due time, bringing a sense of relief to the group.
"She's absolutely adorable," Kira exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she and the rest of the pack admired the little one nestled against her mother's neck. The baby had inherited her father's striking green eyes and many of her mother's features, creating a perfect blend of both parents. What caught everyone off guard, though, was the unexpected shock of blonde hair on the baby, a trait that neither of her dark-haired parents could explain.
As the rest of the pack awed over the newest Hale addition, Derek felt very protective over his two girls. Still, he resisted the urge to growl whenever someone would get too close as he knew no one would ever hurt them - especially when the grumpy sour wolf was around. Morgan was smiling brightly at all the compliments about her little girl, and the werewolf was starting to feel like the small pack of various supernaturals, plus Stiles, were becoming like a family to her as they took her in and looked after the brunette as soon as she turned up out of the blue.
"How come you named her Nova?" Lydia questioned once she handed the small baby back to its mother. Morgan had happily let all the pack have a hold of the little girl, but what did seem to put a downer on the mood was when Stiles awkwardly held her; Nova cried hysterically until she was out of the teen boys arms.
"It's Latin for new, and when Morgan came back into my life, I felt like a new man. It just felt right." The father confessed as he realised how much happier he was now he had the two girls in his life. The whole pack had noticed a change in the usual irritable man. Even though he was still terrifying, the group of teens were extremely grateful for the presence of his first love. The only thing that did bother the pack was that no one seemed to know why Morgan had a spell on her or who did it in the first place.
While the rest of the pack marveled at the latest addition to the Hale family, Derek couldn't shake off the protective instincts he felt for his two girls. He fought the urge to growl whenever someone ventured too close, fully aware that no one would dare harm them, especially with the ever-grumpy wolf on guard. Morgan beamed with joy as she soaked in the compliments about her little girl, and it struck her how this eclectic mix of supernaturals, along with Stiles, was starting to feel like a real family. They had welcomed her and looked after the brunette the moment she unexpectedly reappeared in their lives.
Lydia, curious as ever, asked Morgan about the name they chose for the baby. "Why did you name her Nova?" she inquired, handing the tiny bundle back to her mother. Morgan had been more than happy to let the pack take turns holding the little one, but the mood took a slight dip when Stiles awkwardly cradled Nova. The baby erupted into tears, and it was clear that she was not a fan of the teen boy's clumsy attempts at soothing her.
Derek chimed in, explaining the significance behind the name. "Nova means new in Latin, and when Morgan came back into my life, it felt like I was starting fresh. It just made sense," he admitted, reflecting on how much joy the two girls had brought him. The pack had noticed a shift in Derek's demeanor; while he still had that intimidating edge, there was a newfound warmth that came from having Morgan and their daughter around. However, a lingering question hung over them all: the mystery of the spell affecting Morgan and who had cast it in the first place remained unsolved, casting a shadow over their otherwise joyful gathering.
The werewolf was determined to do everything he could to protect her. Their sweet father-daughter moment was abruptly interrupted by the unexpected voice of an uncle who had a knack for breaking the mood.
"Looks like you're getting soft in your old age," Peter teased, casually leaning against the door of the hospital room while eyeing the newest member of the family. The sudden noise startled Nova awake, prompting a tiny cry that made Derek shoot Peter a disapproving look. "Do you want to hold her?" the new mother asked, watching as Derek gently rocked the fussy baby back to sleep. It was surprising to see such a fierce werewolf display such tenderness with a little one, and it only deepened Morgan's affection for him, making her heart swell even more than before.
Peter was hesitant to take the small child into his arms, and Derek felt the same way as he passed her over. However, the brunette was quite adamant that Peter at least hold the baby for a brief moment, especially since Morgan had maintained a close friendship with her uncle even before she was frozen in time.
Just as Peter finally cradled the baby, Scott burst into the room, his face a mask of panic and fear. Derek quickly ushered the frantic teen wolf out of the room, wanting to keep any negative vibes away from the newborn. Fortunately, neither Morgan nor Peter caught wind of Scott's urgent pleas for Derek's help in locating a now-missing Stiles; they were too engrossed in their own little world, cooing and fussing over Nova, oblivious to the chaos outside.
Scott was in dire need of Derek's assistance to find his best friend, but Derek was fiercely protective of the two girls he had promised to stay with. After a moment of internal struggle and piecing together the situation, he finally relented and instructed Scott to meet him on the roof in ten minutes. With a heavy heart, Derek returned to the hospital room, where Morgan and the baby were waiting. Without uttering a word, he was met with Morgan's bright smile, a beacon of warmth amidst the turmoil.
"Derek, one of the reasons I fell in love with you is because you help people, now go." The new mother urged her boyfriend after Peter had returned her baby to her arms. She couldn't help but eavesdrop on the tail end of the conversation between him and Scott, and hearing the alpha's worried tone about his best friend made her realize that Derek was just the person who could make a difference.
"I love you both," Derek quickly spoke out, planting a kiss on the heads of both women. Peter couldn't help but roll his eyes at Derek's sentimental side, but he still assured them he'd get them back to the loft without a hitch. It took a bit of time for Peter to secure the baby seat in the car properly, and amidst his frustrated growls and Morgan's infectious giggles, they finally managed to get the baby safely settled in the backseat.
Even though it wasn't Derek who was sitting next to the women during the drive back to the loft, Morgan felt a deep sense of fulfillment with her little family. Sure, it might be a bit chaotic and filled with a bunch of supernatural teens, but the brunette wouldn't trade this life for anything else.
