Chapter 2

Queen Amberly:

I'm sitting on Clarkson and I's bed staring at a sheet that I am supposed to approve, trying to comprehend what it's saying. I jump, startled as Clarkson bursts through the door, a huge smile on his face. "I think I found a way for us to have a family." he said. he tried to sound calm, but I could hear the excitement in his voice.

"Clarkson what are you talking about?" I said looking at him with a concerned look on my face. He started to talk again without even answering my question. "there's a family of sevens back in Carolina who can't afford to raise their newborn son Maxon. I met up with them today and I asked if they wanted us to raise him. They said yes of course, I mean who would turn down their child living in a place?" All I could do as I listened to him talk was smile, I couldn't take my eyes off of him. "We are going to have a family?!" I yelled as I stood up all to quickly Clarkson chuckled as I pounced on him, trapping him in a huge hug.

"We're going to be parents!" I yelled tackling him in kisses. Clarkson just chuckled and went along with letting me attack him in kisses. "We are picking him up tomorrow." I stood up quickly after he said that. "I need to hurry! I don't even have a nursery ready for him yet!" I walked out of the room, totally forgetting about Clarkson. As I was walking down the halls, politely bowing my head at guards, I began to think. Will we have to surprise Illea with this? the Capitol report isn't until Friday and it's only Monday which means we are getting Maxon on tuesday. Yep, it had to be surprised. After a while of walking down the hall, I found Silvia. "Silvia I have a request for you." "Yes anything your majesty." I smiled as she curtsied and stared at the floor, waiting for me to give her a command. "Prepare the nursery, we have a prince coming." with that, I kept walking. I smirked, thinking of the look on Silvia's face right now.
