The Provisional Hero License Exam had come and gone, and fortunately for the students of U.A, every single one of them had passed!

The first test: A challenge to knock out another examinee by lighting up all three of the targets they placed on their bodies with a ball was a blinding success. Out of 1500 students, all of Class 1-A managed to overcome the U.A. crush - A severely unfair disadvantage in which they're targeted by everyone other than their own without remorse. They all kept a level-head (pointing a finger at Katsuki and Shoto, who passed the trial without the need for much help) and formed ingenious plans that gave them the advantage, even when all other odds seemed to come against them.

The training that they all went through the days beforehand paid off handsomely, and the incident that occurred the night before was arguably the single most worthwhile experience for the boys involved in that past whole week. A real battle with real consequences at hand was what gave them the adrenaline that they'd have in a real fight, the adrenaline that a Pro Hero embraces whenever they're called to the front line. Because of this, Hanta, Eijiro and Fumikage, who was in perfect unison with Dark Shadow, all passed smiling.

The second test: A rescue mission. While almost all of the class managed to pass without losing too many points, there were two that had many deducted before almost inevitable failure. Naturally, Katsuki and Shoto. The two shared many common similarities, and one of those similarities was the ever-hopeful Izuku Midoriya. Had it not been for him grounding them after they lost their individual ways, they may have lost one too many points; literally, as they barely managed to pass. Once Gang Orca and his sidekicks came (pretending to be villains interfering with the mission) it gave the two hot-heads the chance to shine again. They worked together with some students from Shiketsu, or at least that's what it looked like to the judges, and prioritised their duties to save the civilians and protect the other heroes while they carried people to safety. Or... at least that's what it looked like...

They must've been feeling generous!

That whole day did not go as happily as it should've. In the aftermaths of the test, the students relaxed in the comfort of their dorms, celebrating their win and reminiscing on the highly eventful summer they wouldn't be forgetting anytime soon. But one child had been harbouring his feelings for far too long.

"Yo. Meet me out front. We gotta talk about your quirk."

Katsuki's words sent shivers down Izuku's spine. Could he not do it? The utmost important thing that All Might asked of him. To keep the secret of One for All safe. Katsuki worked it out. As Izuku followed him through the path late into the night, they arrived at Ground Beta. The location of their first fight, in which the next Symbol of Peace won. So... Why did he lose this time?

On the morning of September 2nd, the childhood friends stood side by side each other, albeit a few metres apart as the rest of Class 1-A peered at them from near the exit where they congregated, muttering.
