Percy's p.o.v

I sprinted across the street whooping with joy. 'Food, finally.' I thought.

I turned around when I reached the building. I saw my friends running across the street towards me, when they reached the curb Piper came up and shook me.

"Perseus Jackson don't ever do that again!"

"Geez, sorry Pipes. But food."

They all sighed and Jason shook his head, "I get ya' man. Come on food time."

We walked into the coffee shop and the first thing we saw was a nerdy looking guy with his nerdy looking friends probably talking about nerd stuff.

Annabeth walked up to the counter and spoke to one of the baristas, a few seconds later she came over with a satisfied expression on her face.

"I talked the barista into giving us some scones and coffee." Annabeth explained sitting down at one of the tables.

"Mhmm, sure that's all you did?" Leo inquired leaning his head forward. "Not a little bit of magic?"

Annabeth rolled her eyes, "Yes Leo, she saw us and decided that we were a worthy "charity case"." She said putting air quotations around charity case.

A few minutes later the barista came over and placed coffee and some scones on a plate at our table.

"Enjoy." She said some what cheerfully. Then she walked away again, this time going over to the "nerds" table.

I stuffed a scone in my mouth and took a sip of the coffee. I looked up again when one of the nerds came over to our table.

"Hi. My name's Barry. I...... have, I have a few questions to ask you."

Hazel put down her coffee and faced Barry.

"Sure."

"Um, Iris," he gestured to the barista who'd given us the coffee. "Said that you guys seemed out of sorts. Do you need anything? Like, money, or directions?"

Jason cleared his throat, "Um, yes. Do you guys know where a decent place to stay the night is?"

"But, uh. If you don't then we can just find an alley to stay in." Leo piped in reclining in his chair.

Barry gave us a weird look.

"Leo." Piper warned.

"What? You always did say to be honest."

Piper sighed and pushed him over.

"Ow......" Leo groaned lying on the floor sprawled out spread eagled.

Annabeth looked at Barry and have him a sweet smile. "No thank you. We're fine."

Barry nodded but didn't look convinced, actually, he looked even more concerned now. He didn't say anything and walked back to his table but this time was whispering to his friends and kept looking over to us.

"Maybe we should leave." Nico said side eyeing Barry and his friends.

Annabeth nodded and we stood up. We began walking toward the door when an explosion shook the ground.

So, so sorry about the late update. Hope y'all liked the longer chappie. I may not post another for awhile because school has been hard on me, I've got some emotional stuff going on and me and my fam are going camping this weekend so yeah. Love y'all lots!
