Optic Nerve Blocking

~Jeremy's POV~

I continue to hear Squip talk about taking the 'upgrade.' I mean, it couldn't hurt. Right? Then, I see Michael. I approach him. I hadn't seen him all day, and was starting to think something was wrong.

"Michael? Where have you been all day?" I question.

"Really? So, you're not the one that's been avoiding me all day?" He asks me. I was very confused.

"Do you know anything about this, Squip?"

"It's called optic nerve blocking. I have been blocking Michael from your field of vision." Squip explains.

"Wait, what?" I question. This isn't what I wanted.

"Michael is a link to Jeremy 1.0," he starts to explain. "To upgrade you have to be willing to make sacrifices."

Then, Michael offers getting stoned in his basement.

Was I willing to do this? Just leave my Player 1? My best friend? I always have been the loser. What would it feel like to not be a nobody? It would be awesome. Yes. I have to do this. I'm sorry Michael. You'll find a different Player 2.

"Optic nerve blocking on." I say.

~Michael's POV~

Jeremy evidentially didn't want to get stoned in my basement. He just leaves without giving me a second glance. I feel something deep inside of me break. He was my Player 2. My one and only. My only friend. My first crush. My Jer-Bear. He will not just ignore me. I'll have to make sure he'll have nobody else but me. He will notice me. No matter what. I grin widely, a maniac laughter escaping my throat.
