Mistakes of Wattpad writers

Writers in any platform must be congratulated on will to write and then on their bravery to publish their publications.

Here are some major mistakes writers make and should try to avoid as it males them look like amateur writers.

Lack of own reading
Just the will of writing is not enough. Writers must read enough of the books by experts in order to learn and copy styles and techniques from them.

Mixing of POV
In a single book, it is very often seen to have numerous points of view. This is not the norm of a novel or in story writing. The whole story should be written in one point of view; i.e. through the poin of view of one person only. There cannot be shifts of POVs under different sub-headings. Those are some attributes of non-fiction writing. A novel or short story should be written in a way that addresses all relevant characters' feelings but from the POV of one character; using only one narrator. The writer has to use his/ her skills to show the reader other characters points of view but using only one character as a narrator. 

Titling POVs 

We discussed that there should not be different narrations by different narrators to show different points of views. Then we discussed that different POVs can be written but only through the narrations and/ or POV of the narrator. Therefore, titling POVs is a completely a 'no go' for fiction (story/ novel) writers as this is something that's only done in non-fiction (factual) books. 

N.B: Titling can be done in fictions but only as chapter names. 

Note: Again I must stress; one must read and learn from the expert and famous writers in order to write like them otherwise one risks looking like an amateur writer or worse. 

Grammatical errors
Some books hace really good ideas. The stories have fantastic plots. Reading them could have really been enjoyable but grammatical mistakes let them down. What's sad is some mistakes are really common such as capital letters and full stops. Writers must take care in writing the first time. They must take pride in their work or not publish them at all. Then read it themselves to fix some of the mistakes. Yes, some because a writer cannot see their own mistakes well. Therefore others can be asked to read and inform of where the mistakes are. Writer must not waste time to fix them. The longer they leave it with mistakes, the longer reders won't enjoy it.
