Finn Wolfhard was nervous, but also excited.Today was the day they were returning to SDCC 2019 to have a panel for Stranger Things 3. That wasn't just it, though. He and the rest of the kids (were they still kids though?) talked about an announcement he was going to make before the panel ended.
"Nervous?" Natalia Dyer teased, her hand interlocked with Charlie Heaton's.
"You could say that," Finn said. "I think everyone's gonna go wild."
"Even more wild if I happen to grab your shirt and give you 'The Talk'," David Harbour laughed.
"We've given them extremely vague hints over the past few months," Finn said. "like the post about the promise ring."
"Whose idea was the promise ring thing? Did you give her that?" Charlie asked.
"I did, on V-day."
"V-day? Is that a thing now?" Winona Ryder said.
"I guess it is?" Finn shrugged, grinning. He turned to Noah Schnapp, who was munching on a bagel.
"We're about to go in in a few minutes, and you still haven't finished that?" Finn said.
"I'm hungry, okay? Wait. Don't you have an announcement to be concerned about?"
"You're her best friend so I'm asking you for help."
"Just say that Fillie is real and boom."
"How romantic."
An hour later, when everyone was comfortably seated onstage, Gaten answered a question from a fan ("Do you have a girlfriend this season?") and turned to Finn's direction. He gave him a smirk.
"Speaking about girlfriends, I believe our beloved Mike Wheeler, aka Finn Wolfhard, has something to say?" Gaten said.
"Oh, yes, he definitely has something to say. I mean, look at his cheeks!" Caleb teased.
"I wonder what it is," Noah said.
"Shut up, you guys. Next question?" Finn said quickly.
A fan stood up. She went to the microphone and cleared her throat. "What were you gonna announce?"
Sadie Sink snorted, and Gaten, Caleb, and Noah applauded the fan. The adults were snickering behind them. The interviewer looked incredibly amused.
"Yeah, what were you gonna say?" Millie said into her mic.
"Fiiine. This is a pretty weird time to say it but..." Finn started. The fans craned their necks to hear his response.
"But what!" Sadie said.
"Answer the poor girl's question!" David said.
"Come on, kid, I didn't raise you up to be nervous!" Joe Keery laughed. "Your mother's here to support you!"
"I'm dating," Finn said. "I mean, uh, yeah. Like Gaten said. I have a girlfriend."
The crowd went wild.
"I can see it in the news," Millie said, laughing. "Finn Wolfhard, no longer single?"
"Next question!" Noah laughed, winking at the fans. A girl stood up and ran to the mic.
"Who's the lucky girl?" she asked.
"I have a feeling everyone knows who she is," Finn said, kicking a laughing Noah's chair from beside him. "she's quite Instagram famous, you know. A really great person. Really nice. Really pretty. Okay. Um. She's...extremely talented. Smart and attractive."
"Spit it out!" Caleb said.
"They didn't ask to describe her, they asked who she is!" Maya Hawke said, laughing.
"Do you guys really wanna know who she is?" Finn asked the crowed. Everyone said yes in unison. "Wow. Okay. Uh, Millie Bobby Brown, would you like to introduce yourself?"
"OH MY GOSH." The fan at the mic gasped.
Millie laughed and looked at David, who rolled his eyes playfully. "Yes, that's right. Fillie is real, guys."
Finn turned to her and grinned. She grinned back, and the cameras caught the exact moment.
It was like Mike Wheeler grinning at Eleven, but in real life.
THIS WAS TERRIBLE BUT I ship fillie but I know they aren't gonna happen. This is just an imagine. Oh, if only wishes could come true. But hey it's FILLIEEEEEE
