Jacob's P.O.V
We were done eating, Miguel's food were good that I had to tell Joy to hold back. I went outside to the garden while Joy was inside, I dont know why though but that aside, I went in the shed and grab a tool and proceeded on trimming the bushes me and Joy planted. She was so happy that it bloomed with her favorite fruit strawberry. I watered the plant, even gave it fertilizer. About a minute I was curious on why Joy wasn't here, but I had a clue, today is our birthday which means it's either she want a surprise party for me or something else like packing a present. I already had a present for her I hope she'll like it, I dont even care if we celebrated a party its just all I wanted is that she is happy.
After finishing in the garden, I went to the library, as I was going I saw cousin Uno with my sister, "ahh, there you are Jacob, I was looking for you and your sister" he said opening the library door letting us through, "now I know you two love reading especially thrilling stories, while waiting for your party lets all bond first, huh, what do you say?" he said. I grabbed a book and went to sit down "eh, why not" I said already looking at the book. "sure thing brother" Joy said completely looking happy. I dont know why I respect cousin Uno but to me he's like a brother. We met him once when our parents were still here, he was like so cool that he pushed a boulder out of the way when we were exploring the trees on our big backyard. I was thinking that I didnt saw brother Uno looking at me and sitting beside as he put his hand on my head. "hey what are you thinking about?" he said pulling the book away from me, "n'thin" I said putting my head on the table. We saw Joy pulled a book and now going here to sit and read. She was smiling for some reason. When we were on that car before the accident she was so gloomy, even yesterday when we got here.
Today is our birthday and our welcoming party we just got here yesterday, I even heard the police who took us to the station so we can rest, they said that thay were going to take care of us from now on, but I dont want especially when Joy is so scarred that her parents went missing after the accident. "there you go again thinking deeply, hey come on now, cheer up today is your birthday and tonight is your welcoming party, be excited" he said going to Joy. I only sighed. "tomorrow you two are going to participate in the traditional games, hope you'll pass" he said looking at me smirking.
