------a couple weeks later------
-Ash-
Yesterday marked four months since I had moved in, and two weeks since I freaked out on Matty. I felt bad about it still, but I couldn't bring myself to tell him why it had happened, he'd be upset. The truth of it is that I had run into Darren a few days before.. And let's just say he wasn't too gentle.
I got up and ventured to the kitchen to make tea. It was nearly half eleven in the morning, not early really.. But it felt like 5. I filled up the teapot and set it on the stove, then walked back out to the living room. I was greeted by a half awake Matty, lightly smashing the end of a burnt out cigarette into the ash tray on the table, smiling stupidly at his phone. I went over and sat beside him on the couch.
"What were you doing in the kitchen?" He giggled knowing I don't go in there except for the occasional food and when George isn't up.
"I've got water on for my tea. What's gotten that gorgeous smile on your face?" I smiled at him, wrapping an arm around him lightly. He blushed a little.
"My mom and dad are in town.. I'm taking you to meet them today." He rambled, looking at me happily. I nodded, intertwining our fingers.
"Sounds great! Just let me get my tea in a cup with a lid and get dressed." I kissed him softly, lightly running my fingers along his jaw.
-------
"What if they don't like me..." I sighed. We were in Mattys car on our way to his parents house.
"What if they don't like you? Bullocks. They'll love you. I mean I love you so wouldn't they? Will they still love me? Oh my god what if they've seen something and they hate me?! Oh my-"
"BABE! Honey calm down.. Pull over a minute.." I cooed, running my thumb across his knuckles. He pulled off to the side of the road. I turned to him, placing one hand on either side of his face, looking into his eyes.
"They love you. Don't be silly. They loved you when you were there yesterday, yeah?"
He nodded, tears forming in his eyes. I hate it when he freaks himself out.. I kissed him softly, rubbing my thumb against his cheek.
I pulled away from him slowly, keeping eye contact.
"Alright.. Now let's go." I smiled, resting my hand on his thigh. He pulled back into the road and continued down the street.
A few minutes later we came to a stop. I sat in the car for a moment then got out, waiting for Matty to come to me. I wrapped my arms around one of his and followed him inside. I looked around, my nerves getting the better of me.
"Mum? Dad?"
"Matthew? Were in the kitchen!" She had a nice voice.. One you could listen to a lot and not get annoyed. I liked it. He took my hand, leading me through the house. We walked through the kitchen doorway. Matty pulled me closer to him, attaching us at the hip.
"Mum, dad.. This.. This is Ash.." He said calmly, running a hand down my back. I stepped forward, his mom immediately hugging me.
"Oh my God, it's so nice to finally meet you! You're even prettier in person! I'm Denise.. This is Tim." She smiled , putting her hands on my face.
"T-Thank you.." I said quietly, smiling at her. His dad watched me carefully for a moment, then stepped toward me, wrapping his arms around me.
"It's nice to finally have you in this house, we've been hearing of you since you moved in across from him. He treating you well?" He chuckled eyeing Matty. I smiled, going back to him and wrapping an arm around him.
"He treats me much better than I deserve." I kissed the side of his face and he turned a deep red.
"Let's go into the living room." Denise said, leading us to it. The two of them sat on the couch and I sat on Matty's lap in the chair across from them.
"Where's Lou?" Matty questioned, picking up his phone.
"He's in his room." his dad said, standing up.
"No need. I've got it." Matty typed on his phone, setting it down afterward. There was a little noise upstairs followed by a door shutting. A few seconds later there was a boy walking down the stairs. Matty was quite fond of him. He had told me a lot about him.
"You Ash?" He smirked, getting to the bottom of the steps.
"Well.. Yep. That's me." I giggled.
"You're hot." He stated, sitting on my lap. I ruffled his hair.
"Sorry sweetie. Your brother has dibs."
"Aw, man." He sighed, kissing my cheek and getting off of me. I looked around. I was getting nervous. That's never good. I say things I shouldn't when I'm nervous. Tim and Matty went into the kitchen to get wine and glasses and came back moments later. Matty handed me a glass as I stood up so he could sit back down.
"So.." Denise stared.
"Tell me something I don't know.." She finished, setting her glass on the table.
"Your son is great in bed." Was the first thing that literally fell out of my mouth. Matty looked at me, dumbfounded. I turned red, and honestly felt quite sick, that is until Denise chuckled.
"Well if he's anything like his father-"
"Oh God, mum!" Matty gasped, leaning his head against my back.
----afterward----
I picked up my phone and called Jaime, telling him to get George and Kiersten and come to the park I'm the middle of town. No exceptions. And to tell George to bring along the weed and any alcohol we had in the house. Me and Matty walked down the sidewalk towards the park, smoking as we went. We parked further down the road so we could walk together to the park. He walked a little ways in front of me, not letting go of my hand.
"Ash?" He smiled, turning to me. I walked closer to him until our chests were touching.
"Yes Matty?" I breathed, leaning my forehead against his. He kissed me deeply, holding me closer against him. I kissed him once more, softly.
"Now.. Push me on the swings!" I giggled, running towards them.
