My head was spinning in circles. Where was I? My eyelids get heavy like if I slept for 3 days straight. I tried getting up but I was restrained by something, startling me. I opened my eyes. The white lights made my eyes sting. I glanced around the place. It was futuristic like those sci fi movies I watched in my chemistry teacher's class. There were white straps holding me down. I was only wearing a hospital gown. It made me feel a bit exposed. I felt a bit sore and exhausted. It was quiet, not a single noise. Not even my own breathing. Then footsteps. I tried looking but my head was also restrained. "Who's there?" I managed to squeak.
They sat on the rolling chair next to me. It was a woman with black hair tied back in a bun. She had a gentle smile. She seemed somewhat trustworthy.
"Where am I?"
She nodded and whispered. "District 9."
"Who are you?"
Dr. Lee."
"What's going on? Why am I here?"
"Too many questions. But child listen to me."
I didn't like being called child but I nodded.
"Escape this place, and take those you can awaken."
"What do you mean?" I asked
. "Once you're out there you'll understand what I mean."
She had a worried face, it made me worry. She brushed my hair with her hand gently. "I won't let them hurt you okay, just promise me you'll escape this place."
Then the most important question hit me. "Who am I?" I asked a bit confused.
Thinking I couldn't remember anything before this, except a man smiling. " ...you have no name child."
"No name?!" She silenced me. "Keep it down, you can't let them know I didn't put the syringe, you must act like the others u til you can escape do you hear me." I nodded. "But don't I need a name?"
She smiled a sad smile and nodded. "I always liked the name, y/n." She brushed my hair and smiled. "Please get out of here." The urgency in her voice made me anxious, I was worried for this Dr. Lee.
"I will escape District 9."
She smiled. "That's my girl 469Z."
"No matter what it takes."
She unbuckles the white straps and helped me get on my feet. She handed me a white jumpsuit, with silver colored buttons. I quickly changed into them and looked at the tag on my shoulder. "469z. You mentioned this number earlier." "Thats your code here, y/n"  she smiled and caressed my cheek. She brushed me hair and looked over my face with admiration. She hugged me tight. She made me think, of a mother. Perhaps, she was...
"Mother?" I asked a bit quiet. She looked startled at hearing the word mother. "Don't call me that ever again, my y/n. Once you get out of here. You'll understand everything. You'll remember everything."
I knew it. She was my mother, by the way she acted. The way she looked at me with tenderness. I was Dr. Lee's daughter, one fact closer to my memories, and one more thing to know about District 9.
