Anne and Jay spent a good deal of time together. And they liked to spend time together. Though at first they weren't so fond of eachothers company. Anne was so tired of six-year-old Harry tugging at her arm everyday he returned from school to talk about the little boy named Louis.
It was always about the way Louis would steal his markers during crafts or when Louis would smile at Harry afterward. Anne had thought about talking to the other boys mother, about him maybe, leaving Harry alone. But she couldn't shake the feeling that there was a possible friendship between the two.
See at first it was always about Louis pestering Harry, and it was bothering Anne, but Harry also spoke of when Louis would offer Harry his swing at the playground, or his jacket when it got cold. So the let the two have some time to figure it out.
Eventually she heard less and less bad things about Louis, and only good things.
The two boys parted ways for the break in between grades, and Harry began to speak so fondly of Louis. When they both entered 1st grade little Harry was so giddy upon finding out that he and Louis had the same teacher.
--
Five years later, Louis and Harry hadn't really changed. Louis still stole Harry's markers, and Harry's stomach turned a little when Louis played with his fringe. Excpet now Harry didn't take his mother with him to go to Louis' house. He took his washing gloves, to do Louis' dishes.
No, Harry wasn't Louis' house maid, he just liked to be around Louis. And Louis liked to keep Harry around him, even if it meant stealing Harry's markers in turn of Harry doing his dishes.
-
Harry was walking down Louis' driveway, the grass was wet from the rain so he avoided it. Harry let a deep breath in, and out. Going to see Louis always had him a little excited, he pushed a hand through his fringe and checked to see if his shoes were tied. They were.
He stopped at the front door and knocked once before walking in, he knew that the family was always eager for him to let himself in. He practically was a part of their family. Harry assumed Louis was in his room, so he crept up the stairs and bursted through the door, "Louis I've arrived to do your dishes!", Louis nearly jumped out of the chair he had previously been sitting in, "Bloody hell Harreh, you've nearly given me a heart attack!"
"Well I told you I would be over shortly, now come down stairs and watch me do the dishes so I have someone to talk to."
"Of course love," Louis liked to call Harry pet names. Harry liked when Louis called him pet names.
Harry was in the middle of scrubbing the cheese off of a plate when Louis asked Harry if he was still listening, "Oh sorry Lou, what was that?"
"Harry you've become absent minded recently, I was saying that I wish you wouldn't skip lunch to go to the art room," Louis sounded almost disappointed.
"Sometimes I like to finish my projects before they're due, so I don't feel as rushed Lou, you know that," Harry hated to feel like he was disappointing Louis. "Ahh, I know."
Harry felt Louis moving his arms around him, Louis put his head in the crook of Harry's neck. Louis was a very physical being. Harry relaxed his head back, leaning into Louis a little more. Harry let out a small sigh, the little window above the sink allowed Harry to see the backyard, "Lou?" Louis hummed in response, "We should play some footie, we don't do that anymore."
"Ok love, I'll go get the ball," the space Louis left behind Harry was cold.
