Chapter 38: Congratulations, It's a...

***Elle's POV***

It's been exactly thirty tweeks since Adonis' death. I know that because that's how long i've known i was pregnant. My pregancy has came and gone faster than i thought it would. I kept my promise and made sure i took care of myself. I took all my vitamins and ate healthy... sometimes. I tried to eat a salad once but it didn't taste like pizza so i spit it out. I did at least make sure i worked out and did cardio. I wanted my baby to be strong and healthy. I don't know the sex of the baby, i wanted it to be a surprise. Ej tried to bribe the doctor to tell him but it didn't work.

It's been hard but i've slowly come to terms with Adonis' death. I had to move on and focus on taking care of my baby. I didn't have time to lay around in my grief. I had a baby that was depending on me so i pushed my feelings aside and did what i had to do.

Through all of this, Ej has been by my side every step of the way. He's gone to all of my doctor's appointments and even the parenting classes. He's never complained about anything, not even when i make him go buy me hot wings a four in the morning. I hardly think i could have made it through this pregnancy without him.

I was laying in my bed watching loiter squad when i felt the urge to pee. Before i could get out of bed i felt a pop and then water gushed down my thighs.

"Oh shit." my water had broke. "EJ !" i yelled at the top of my lungs.

He came running in the room with a towel wrapped around his waist and there were bubbles on his head. "What is it ? are you okay ? is it the baby ?"

"Ej. It's time"

"Time for what ? Oh damn, why you aint tell me loiter squad was on ? Is this the lightskin awareness episode ?" he came and sat down on the bed. "Ew Elle, you nasty ! you too old to be peeing in the bed !" he frowned, standing back up.

"Idiot, i didn't pee in the bed. My water broke !"

His eyes grew wide and his mouth dropped open. "Oh shit ! I'm about to have a baby ! are you okay ? are you in pain ?" he put his hand on my forehead and i slapped it away.

"I'm fine ! Go get dressed, scubba steve. I'll clean up and get myself together"

"Okay, just hold tight. I'll be right back !" He ran out the room with bubbles flying off of his head.

I shook my head and got out the bed. I waddled into the bathroom and got myself cleaned up, then i put on a pair of love pink sweat pants and a matching hoodie. I grabbed my phone and my hospital bag and headed to the living room to wait on Ej. My cramps weren't too bad so i was surprisingly calm.

A few minutes later Ej ran out of his room wearing red polo joggers and a hoodie. He had a camcorder strapped to his hand. "Alright let's go"

He helped me up from the couch and then we left the building. He helped me get into the car, then we headed to the hospital.

The cramps didn't kick in until we hit the parking lot. I clenched my teeth as spasms of pain rocked through my body. This shit hurts !

"AYE WHERE THAT NIGGA DOCTOR CARSON ? MY SISTER IS IN LABOR !" Ej yelled as he carried me into the emergency room. The nurses immediatly placed me into a wheel chair and wheeled me to the back. Ej followed close behind, muttering about how he was about to be an uncle.

If i could see myself right now, i probably looked like i had been through hell and back. I was sweating so hard my hair was sticking to my face and the back of my neck. I've been in labor for three hours and they still hadn't given me my damn epidural !

"How are you feeling today Elle ?" Doctor carson asked as he checked my vitals

"I feel like there's a bear clawing itself out of my vagina. GIVE ME MY DAMN EPIDURAL !" i screamed as another contraction racked through my body
