I couldn't believe any of this was happening, it really made me sick just thinking about it, it was only a few days ago when everything was normal and okay. I was at the news station, working, getting coffee with my coworkers and pulling cable around. It wasn't until some of them started to call in sick that I noticed something was wrong. It wasn't just two or three of them calling in but almost the whole news team.

I had to take Cathren's place, she was one of the anchor women but I didn't mind. I only minded when I had to brodcast the fact there was a horrible disease spreading, something I never heard of before and it made me so scared because I was the only one not getting sick.

The next day as I drove to work I saw how bad the roads were, cars abandoned and the power had seemed to have gone out. I saw people on the side of the road, walking and staggering around, I wasn't sure what to think of it. I was going to get off, to get a closer look or just to ask what was going on but they didn't seem normal or human for a fact. Their skin was pale maybe greenish, something I probably seen in one of those horror movies me and my cousin would watch, like zombies.

That word seemed silly for me to use. Zombies? No way!

I just drove to the news station, I got off and walked right in. The building was empty, I called out for my friends and coworkers but no one answered. I was alone.

That's when it hit me, I need to get out of here. I walked to the control room, flicked one of the TVs on that broadcasts other news stations. My heart started to race. CEDA was evacuating the public, for those who are not infected, they were to come to the roofs of buildings to be taken to safety. I had never moved so fast, I grabbed one of the hand held cameras they had in the room and I left. I got back in my car and drove to the closest evac center.

I parked in the parking lot of a hotel and got out. The building was some how on fire, how could that have happened? I had no time to think about an answer, I just ran in and headed straight for the stairs.

To my surprise I wasn't alone, there were two others running up the stairs just like me. One was dressed nicely in a suit, it was white, some how badly stained with blood. A larger man came right after him. He was out of breath, murmuring something about a helicopter and chocolate, he looked like I was related to him, he was dying as he tried to walk up these stairs.

I really had no time to talk, I just headed past them and got right to the roof. I stepped out and I saw no helicopter, I only saw this kid out there, in overalls with a yellow t-shirt and it was stained with blood too. I honestly got afraid because I saw him holding an axe but he turned to me and greeted me.

I asked him where were the rescuers. He just looked past me, he said they just left, maybe a few minutes ago. I had a look on my face, I was devastated and this only made me worry more.

That guy in the Suit came right up stairs, god he was pissed, he started cussing, pacing back and forth. What were we going to do? Well my question was answered when the kid walked to the table that was right next the door. He grabbed a pistol and suggested we head back down before we end up getting stuck up here.

That's right, the building was up in flames, so sounds like a good idea to me!
