It's April 12, 1861, and America joined into the war. I was terrified as a soldier. Everything is going to change in my life after this.. I've never seen a dead person untill 3 minutes ago and it was not a pretty sight. I can't say I've never shot anyone now cause 5 men are down because of me on the southern side, I'm on the northern side. I'm fighting against slavery. It's a disgracefull thing, have people bend to your will because your too lazy to do it. Ridiculous.
I'm getting shot at and I shoot at people. There is blood everywhere from people I knew or didn't know. My best friend still stands beside me covering for me while I load my gun. Then when I'm done I covor him while he loads. "Jake!" he yells at me. It takes me a minute to realize why he yelled. I look at my left arm and there is a chunk of it gone from a bullet. I take and rip a part of my undershirt off and tie it around my arm so the bleeding stops a little. It hurts really bad but the worst part is its bleeding so bad my entire arm is already red with blood. I look up to see Max still shooting. "Shit.. I need to reload, hurry up Jake!" I get up and start shooting again, good thing I'm right handed.
