I didn't know what to do. I saw the man die just like Max did but I couldn't do anything. I knew that man, except he wasn't a man. He was a boy, sixteen to be exact. He wanted to be apart of history and fight for what he believed was right. He had so much longer to live. Tears started coming, I told him everything I knew. About war, secrets, how to get mates (so if I didn't make it he'd know), and tricks to make pain or blood go away.
I looked down at Max and he stood up, loaded his gun and shot a person in the head. "What are you doing?" He yelled at me " load your damn gun!" I didn't hesitate, I loaded, shot, and killed for the next 3 hours just like Max. Not saying anything.

We traded out groups so our group could get rest, water, and food. "Jake.." I heard as I was trying to sleep. "Jake, please. I need to talk to you, its important." I slowly turn over to see Max right at my face. "What?" I ask. "Umm.. I didn't know war would be like this.." he said. I gave him a 'what' expression mixed with a 'your an idiot' expression. "Well I didn't know it would be this painful to see. I thought since we were at war with the other side then maybe it would be easier to kill them.." Max said as he gave me a sad puppy look. "There still people, Max. Just because we don't get along doesn't mean it won't be as hard to kill them." "Well it's really hard for me, and I don't want to see you get hurt more than you already are." Max said as he looked at the wound. "I love you, man." "I love you too, dude" I said and hugged him. We couldn't sleep so we stayed up talking about things.
