So I recently bought the Fairytales of the brothers Grimm. Which is the original Fairytales before Disney bought and adapted them. Some are the same like Rapunzel and some are a bit different like Snow White. Plus I was listening to Florence and the Machine, but her really dark stuff like Heavy in your arms and I decided to write a Fairytale. Um, enjoy?

XxX

Dawn starts to break in-between the trees as I crouch down into my shooting position. The deer stands tall in all her glory by the sparkling lake as the droplets filter down on her face. Violet and Amber light shine across the lake as the deer looks up.

I hear the sound of snapping twigs as I hide behind a thick and towering oak tree.

I freeze. It definitely wasn't me because I haven't moved. I see a flicker of movement from the opposite end of the small lake.
Oh my God, is this guy serious?
There was a figure standing there with a shotgun. And he was after my deer.
Oh no buddy, you can go get a squirrel. I've been tracking this deer for miles and my feet are sore. I can feel blisters starting to form since the boots I'm wearing don't even fit right. I start to loose my patience.

So I shoot.

My arrow doesn't reach the target but the leg instead as it pierces the femur because this idiot has fired and missed at the exact same time I shot. The round hit a neighbouring tree next to the deer as I feel the radiation from my place.

I curse under my breath as the deer runs away. It's injured enough to slow it down but it's still fast and since now it knows it's being hunted, it'll do everything it can to stay alive.

So instead of run after it I shoot down a couple of squirrels in the trees. I don't even know why I hunt. My family is wealthy enough with their frilly dresses and servants.

My mother is addicted to the riches that my father left before he died. She makes me go to the nearest Market everyday to get her and my sister new things. She tells me to get myself things, and sometimes I do just to please her like a pretty necklace or a beautiful dress but I never wear them. I don't see the point.

I just like to get out of the house because all they talk about is the Prince and his kingdom. That one day my sister Clarissa will marry him and be Queen blah blah blah. Clarissa is seventeen but acts much older. She thinks I'm much younger than I am because I'm sixteen and the she thinks the Prince is perfect for her since he's eighteen.

I'm lost in thought until I see a figure storm towards me. Of course! The reason for being lost in thought is that moron who made the noise! I aim my bow in front of him directed at his chest.

I can be intimidating if I want and right now I look pretty scary. I can imagine my dark blonde hair tied up in a messy bun. Not the typical hair for a lady of my court but I'm not a lady at this moment. I am a hunter. A hunter who's pretty pissed because they didn't get their kill.

The idiot pulls down his hood and raises his hands in surrender. I smirk because I've won our silent game of commandment. The man isn't old, he's around twenty five give or take a few years with black hair sleeked back on his head. His figure is oozing confidence but his facial expression says otherwise.

'W-Why are you pointing an arrow at me?' he stutters.
'Why did you just chase away my kill?' I spat angrily.
He just stands there. His cloak flapping behind him. I look down at what I'm wearing because I know he won't try and make a move to run, he's too smart for that.

I'm wearing my hunting boots, my cotton White shirt and my horse back riding trousers because I don't have hunting trousers so these had to do. I don't own a cloak because I never bought one in case my mother sees it.

She doesn't know I hunt because she would be appalled if she knew one of her daughters dressed like a boy on a rare occasion.

I'm not really that angry about the kill when think about it but I like this act I'm pulling so I stick with it.
'How dare you!'
I lower my bow but keep eye contact with the man. I start walking towards him and be stumbles back over the twigs on the forest floor. He finally trips over backwards over a log and I can't help myself but giggle so that breaks my little game of fun.

I help him up as I say 'I'm not going to kill you today so good news for you'
As i start to walk away from him, he apologises.
'I'm sorry about the doe, I can be pretty stupid sometimes..' 'Its okay, I'm not really bothered. Just work on your hunting skills a bit better because you will run into someone who's not as nice as me and they will kill you'

I turn away and start my journey back to my house in Lokinara.

Lokinara is pretty big for it's status. Meaning it doesn't have one. Everyone knows everybody and my family is well known all about the kingdom. I'm known as the daughter of Miranda Everald and the sister of Clarissa Everald. Never by my first name Aurora Everald.

Although some people at the Market call me Rory so if my mother was passing by on that time, they could never shout Aurora across the yard.

I come to the clearing in the woods with the grass as long as my knees and I know I'm almost home. Good timing too, another ten minutes and everyone would have been getting up.

I come to the stone wall passed the clearing that separates the village from the forest and find the gap in the wall hidden with branches so only a handful of people know about it.

I remember finding it when I was little. I was about seven I think and while I was running in my nice new frilly gown which is what I called it.

The gown was White as pure snow and I had only got it that day.

I had tripped over a fallen log and stumbled into the trees. The thorns had ripped my dress and I remember sitting crying for ages because I knew mother would be angry with me because the dress costed a fortune.

My father found me about an hour later sitting there by the wall and showed me the gap and he joked about how I had made the gap when I tripped. So I laughed and stated that i wasn't that strong. He said that we were always as strong as we wanted to be and that strong wasn't in my muscles but my heart.

I got up and brushed my dress off. I held onto my fathers hand the whole way home and my mother was angry with me and sent me to my room. My father and mother argued for a while about the cost if it but he came up later that night to tell me everything was fine.

I climbed into the gap and disappeared over the side. The grass was shorter here as it had been freshly cut.

I looked around looking for any sign that anyone was near me. When the cost was clear just like every other morning, I ran home.

The long path seemed to take forever this morning from my blistering feet. The horses were in the stables as always and the servants were out picking gooseberries from the bushes in the garden.

I wave to the servants and they smile back. The servants are the only ones who know I go hunting in the house and I'm thankful they don't tell mother who is possibly getting up..

I realise in panic that she will be getting up anytime now so I run with all my breath up to my bedchamber.

Our house or rather manor is a well built structure that towers over the village. I love it. The only highlight of being rich. That, and the food is amazing.

While in my room, I have a four poster bed with a writing desk for which I send letters. I hear my mother getting up and is in the lavatory. In quickly change from my hunting clothes and hide my bow and arrow in my wardrobe under my clothes.

I put on one of my sleek gowns that I loved because it was a pale peach colour and went down to the floor. It was plain but had a lace strip around the waist as it fell to the floor.

I took my hair down from the bun I had it in as my dark blonde hair cascaded past my shoulders and down my back. I looked myself in the mirror and smiled a bit. Perfect. My mother would never know I had been out hunting.

I put on the matching shoes which were the same colour but sparkled with a bit of a heel so it clomps on the marble floor.

I walk down our staircase and find mother sitting at the table in the kitchen with the mail. Clarissa doesn't get up for another twenty minutes so me and mother usually talk about things.
'Good morning mother' I say as I walk past her to the stove where a fresh pot of tea is waiting.
'hmph?' She mutters to me.
'Are you alright?' I ask.

She barley registers what i say as she stares at one letter entwined in her slim fingers.
I pour the tea into one of the goblets and walk over to where she is sitting, not making ay moves.

I peer over her shoulder so I can take a better look at this interesting letter.
It has the King's symbol on the top of it as I scroll my eyes down. What could be so important that she can't even reply? I'm a bit annoyed because I put effort in my dress this morning..

I frown as I read,

To all the Lords and Lady's of Everald manor. His Royal Highness would like to request the pleasure of their company at the Castle in Heavensfold. I suggest you leave immediately this afternoon and bring clothing for every occasion that may arise such as the ball that is coming up and any other activities in celebration of the Prince..

I didn't have to read anymore to realise that we were going to have to stay at the Castle for a while.

And I refused to go.
