Your eyes flickered open as you rolled over to shut your alarm off, wanting nothing but to stay in bed on this rainy day. Staring up at the ceiling listening to the rain patter on the roof you think to yourself. Getting up, you slowly move around your tiny apartment in the heart of New York City shared with your roommate Lily, who already left for work. At only 19, you already moved from your home in Texas to the big city in search for a refreshing new adventure. There were so many possibilities in this city, you loved the excitement that it held. Everyday was a surprise...but you had a feeling today wasn't going to be one of those awesome days. Quickly changing into some fresh clothes you head out the door to the dance studio a few blocks away. For now, you worked as a young choreographer, somewhat as an intern, shadowing the really good dancers and working behind the desk at the studio. You loved doing it but you didn't really see it as your career goal, it was just a side job for the time being. You were really good at it, as said by the workers there, but you doubted yourself. You felt intimated by others watching you. Arriving at the concrete building you went around back to open up the facility for the day. Stepping in a puddle you sigh...just the way to start a crummy day. Finally getting inside to let all the lights heat up, you start stretching and warming up for your day ahead, full of anyone and everyone who wants to take some cheap dance lessons on the streets of NYC. Turning shuffle on your iPhone connecting to the stereo 'I Would' by Justin Bieber blasts through the main dance hall. Smiling to yourself you remember hearing this the day it came out and absolutely loving it. A pang of homesickness gets to you as you think back to the times where you would freak out over everything that boy did. You still liked his music alright, but your life was so much busier you hadn't thought about him in a long time. Continuing to stretch you think back to your old hometown in Kentucky where you grew up, your friend Emily who was just as big as a "Belieber" as you were. "ah the good old days" you say to yourself.
The employees start to drift in, saying hello to all of them you position yourself at the front desk to answer calls or sign anyone up for a class. It was a slower day so you leisurely sat at the entrance behind the massive oak desk. Looking at your phone you hear the bell above the door jingle. Looking up you see a posse of different people, broad shouldered men hiding the people behind from view. As the men move out of the way you almost can't help but gasp in surprise as your heart leaped out of your chest. Could it be? You ask yourself as a guy with a white SnapBack turns his head to look at you.
