Stepping aside you let the two cops inside, glancing over at Justin. He looked like a deer in headlights.
This was not good. You knew something was wrong, right off the bat. Justin knew something. Something he hadn't told you.
"Mr. Bieber?" One of the policemen cleared his throat pulling out a notepad. Justin nodded. You tried to catch his eye but he avoided your confused looks. "Where were you this evening, around 7 o'clock?" The cop questioned right away. "Uh, I was at the grocery store, picking up some flowers." Justin said, his eyes darting back and forth. "Do you know why we are here?" The cop stepped forward, his stern face looking Justin up and down. "I believe so..." Justin licked his pink lips, straightening his posture. "Then why don't you tell us what really happened and what you saw in the alley next to the said grocery store." The cop scribbled something on his paper waiting for a reply. "Well, um. I was...I was leaving the store and had parked down the street...so I cut through the alley way that I used beforehand." Justin's facial expressions didn't change as he talked. "Why didn't you have any security guards for the day?" "I gave them all the day off." Justin tugged at his hair, clearly shaken up about something.
You were so utterly confused at what Justin was talking about and why the police were here. "And as you walked down this alley, what did you see happen?" The cop asked. "I...I saw...some man...he was in the far corner of the alley...I thought nothing of it until another man appeared at the other end of the entryway...I stopped walking and somewhat hid myself once I noticed that they had begun an argument." Justin rubbed his face in distress. You had a million questions at this moment and you were concerned that something terrible happened and Justin didn't even tell you. "And the one man...he appeared older, kind of hunched over...he uh started fighting with the other guy, meanwhile I started to retreat my steps. All of the sudden I hear one gun shot." Justin shakily said, staring at both of the policemen.
"I see the younger of the two fall to the ground. I...I didn't know what to do, so I ran as fast as I could around the opposite side of the building towards my car..." Justin choked out incredibly shaken up. "And why didn't you think to call the police after what you saw?" One of the policeman question harshly. "I... I don't know. I was in shock. I thought I was... I felt like I was... gonna die, I- I called my attorney. He told me he would take care of everything..." Justin rubbed his face with his hand, his expression stressed. You stared in alarm. Utterly speechless at what you had just heard. He had tried to cover up how frightened he was the whole evening. You were horrified at the terrible occurrence...but the fact he lied to you...and told you everything was fine, when it was far from that.
"Mr. Bieber. The man who was shot, died soon after the murder. The man who killed him is on the loose and you seem to be the only witness. Someone from the store saw you exit the alley directly after the incident and reported it. That's the only way we would have found out this soon." Justin's face turned stark white. He squeezed his eyes shut, praying this was all just a nightmare. Covering your mouth with your hand you didn't take your eyes off him. This can't be happening...
"I...I, don't know what to say. I-." Justin stuttered, ripping his hands through his tousled hair. "You do understand that not reporting such a crime can go on your already existent record, or worse." The policeman said with strict warning. "Is she at all involved?" The other policemen pointed at you. "No! I picked her up an hour after." Justin continued to ignore your pleading, angry eyes. "Ma'm is this information new to you?" One of them asked, turning towards you. "Yes. Yes it is." You held your hand to your chest, trying to calm your beating heart. "Why did you not tell your...?" The policeman questioned Justin what you were to him . "My girlfriend. I don't know." Justin's jaw twitched, stealing a glance at you for half a second. Everything was happening at such a rapid pace your head began to spin. Disbelief clouded your jumbled thoughts.
