Hi guys! I really hope this story is fun for your guys to read and stuff. I worked really hard on this story and pre-wrote only six chapters of it before posting it. It will be kinda long so I hope you enjoy it. After-or during, I'm not sure yet if I'm going to be posting another story. Whether that be another Michael fic or any of the other boys, I haven't decided yet. This chapter seems really short but I worked really hard on it and the other chapters will be super long. I hope you like it! xx
CHAPTER ONE: Jane
Her body plunged into the black lake of water. Except it wasen't a lake, it was the ocean. The ocean: a place of mystery that haunts you along with its cruel waves. But this was what Jane was training for; waves that crash you down and force you to stay down. Jane wanted to be a very successful lifegaurd; she wanted to have the satisfaction of saving someone almost everyday. Although it wouldn't be great for the victim to be pulled under, it would be satisfying for Jane to be able to save them.
That's when the infectious salt water hit her eyes and instantly became raw. That was the downside to having terribly bad eyes. The pros include: having a large variety of beautiful glasses, an excuse to be in the front of the classroom, and not having to take those wretched eye tests at school. The cons included not being able to open my eyes underwater for too long, being teased by being called 'four-eyes', and too comfertable with glasses to wear contacts.
Jane squeezed her eyes tight, giving into the devil in the water. But the ocean was also heaven; Jane had grew up swimming, surfing, and skim-boarding in the ocean. Her family had a house right on the beach. That was before The Inccident. The Inccident happened when her older brother, James, got his leg stuck in a bed of kelp. There was a wave coming up behind him right as he pulled out of the kelp nest. The monster wave tumbled him to the bottom of the ocean. Her father pulled him back up, and James barely survived at the hospital. Ever since The Inccident, 6 years ago, Jane has been catious about the ocean and addicted to learning about ocean saftey.
Jane swam around in the relaxed water a little more, but then jumped out. She scooped up her semi-wet clothes that were lying on the beach in a ball and walked to her house. The warm air hit her damp body as the sweet smelling aroma filled her lungs. "Are you baking tonight?" Jane asked her mom as she snatched a towel from the table to rub the water off of her body. Her mother was the greatest baker that ever lived; she knew almost every recipe, and wanted to learn even more. Her specialty was a crumble coffee cake that was absolutely delicious.
"Jane Andrews, you know not to be out this late in the ocean." Her mom protested. "Alone." She added. Jane's mom was right, she shouldn't be out at 10:00 pm swimming in the ocean by herself.
"I know, mother. I'm sorry." Jane apologized, and knew her mother accepted because of her sweet smile. Jane's mother was very attractive; Jane got her blue-green eyes from her mother, and her sweet pale skin too. Her mother's blonde hair feel behind her ears almost always.
"And you have school tomorrow too, Jane! Go upstairs, get in the shower and I'll bring you up a slice of cake when you're done." Her mother cooed. Jane obeyed and swayed upstairs. She threw her musty school clothes and wet towel in the laundrey shoot. Hopping in the shower, Jane rubbed the shower-gel stained loofa over her body. Jane's tense shoulders relaxed as the piping hot water ran down her body.
After Jane had finished her slice of delicious cake, got on a nice pair of pajamas, and finished her tumblr rave, she had gone in bed. Later that night, Jane had thought about her job. She wanted to be a lifegaurd and there was an opening at her beach. She really wanted to be a lifegaurd; when she was younger, her parents couldn't afford to send her to the Junior Lifegaurds camp so Jane saved up for it every year by babysitting and doing odd jobs around the house. But Jane decided she needed to get that job; so she did.
