Hey all, this is completely un-edited and I wanted to publish it before editing because I have very little time. School is.... yikes. Freshman year! Yippee? Anyways, please vote and leave a comment. I love you all! Be kind, stay safe, have a nice weekend! Always the best! - Lexi

The Jasonite hopped onto the fence's wooden supports. The night was dark, though the mildky way could be seen faintly in the distance, dimmed slightly by the brilliant light of the full moon. This was how Champ liked the world. Dark. Peaceful. Asleep. Safe, for the moment. He glanced around, admiring the calm peace of midnight, and his eyes happened to chance upon the sleeping face of a little girl through the nearby window. Her arm was draped over the bed, as if reaching towards him and as he watched her small side rise and fall rhythmically, he felt the overpowering urge to protect her with his life. He told himself that he was being stupid as he shifted into a fruit fly - his smallest form. Stop. Stop. Stop. Jasonites only serve the Council. Not little mortal, normal, girls. Stop. Stop, Champ. You don't even know her. You've never seen her before and you probably won't ever see her or hear about her again if you leave right now! His mind screamed at him as he wriggled through the small gap in her window-screen. He told himself that he was only putting her in more danger by staying as he shifted back into a wolf. But as he sat by the edge of her bed, keeping watch through the night, listening to her breathing, he knew that he had made the right choice. She was safe. That's what mattered in this moment. In all moments. From now on, she would be safe. Because he would protect her. Because they would never get her. Because no one would- no one could- ever hurt her.
