when my eyes met with his I could see a glint in his eye. He knew who I was.

my legs immediately felt weak and my breath hitched the feeling of all the blood rushing to an unknown location in my body it was chilling.

He was the first to look away as he turned to pick up a sheet of paper presumably the register. I heard him begin completing the list followed by automatic 'here's' from my peers and a few giggles from the girls in the class.

when he got to my name I couldn't bare to look him in the eyes "here" I replied lower and quieter than usual. something about him didn't add up.

an abundance of questions rolled around in my head making it impossible to focus on his lecture.

who was he?

what was his deal with Carmen?

why is he suddenly working here?

the questions kept on rolling and new ones joining the never ending list but no answers were there for those questions.

I didn't know a first name for him but thankfully due to his job I found out his last name.

Mr Evans.

once the bell rang I jumped up from my seat heading for the door. I briefly made eye contact with Mr Evans but it was nothing more than a glare that he reciprocated.

yep he defiantly knows who I am.

Once I was out of the classroom and back in the hall where there were many witnesses my panic started to settle.

Hailey caught up to me in the corridors.

"Hey Tristan, you okay?" her awkwardness was refreshing.

"uhm.. yeah.. actually I need your help with something"

I needed help finding out who this stalker/teacher was but I couldn't tell Max, no matter his impressive detective skills, because whenever there is a situation involving Carmen he tells me the same thing "you're too young to be this obsessive, move on" but I'm wary of this guy I need answers.

"and why would I help you stalk a teacher?" Hailey questions my sanity

"Because it would mean a lot to me" I flashed a grin and gave the best puppy dog eyes I could conjure up.

"okay fine, just this once. What do you know about this guy so far"

"uh, he is creepy. oh and his last name is Evans"

"wow you really need my help" she says before leading the way to the library.

we sit at the computer in the corner the room so no one else can see the screen.

"Okay so we can't do much without a first name unfortunately. so if we go onto the schools website and click on the staff button we should be able to find him there" she narrates her actions.

once we are on the staff page we start scrolling down.

an hour or so had passed and I was growing tired of this futile method.

"how many teachers can this school possibly have"

"it isn't just the teachers on the list it is all past and present staff members employed by the school so my guess is that this is going to take a while." H responds to my whining.

"ugh..[I glance at my watch] I've got to go, if I miss another  chemistry lesson I'm gonna get suspended. you okay here?" I felt rude asking her to carry on while I went to lesson but this mission was an important one.

"yeah sure you go get to chemistry, you're not going to be much use to me if you get suspended"

I smiled at her and retreated from the library.

I hadn't anticipated how long this would've taken.

I took a seat next to Max in lesson.

"me and Jonah are thinking of shooting some hoops after school today you in?"

"uh I can't I have to look after Amelia" I lied.

"bring mimi along"

shit.

"I can't I've got a heap of homework to do as well"

"since when did you give a crap about homework?" Max eyes me up suspiciously

"uh since I decided I want to go to college"

"fine okay. next time though no excuses"

"I promise" I said before turning to face the front and listen to mrs O'leary's lecture.
