-Sal, I'm trying to save us here, but if you just keep giving me orders, I'll lose it! And if I turn left, we'll just get caught by traffic in route 101!
-Damnit, what do we do?
-We'll go straight till those two roads cross, and when we're almost there, we'll just take a turn they're not expecting, just have to do it really fast!
-What do you mean by a turn they're not expecting?!? Noe?! Are you going to drive us into the woods??
Noelani nodded discreetly
-You're out of your bloody mind! Merda!
Noelani bursted out laughing while she grabbed the steering wheel with all of her strength.
-Leave your portuguese/british insults for after, Sal. Like I already said, I'm saving both of our lives here.
Before Sal could answer, they heard gunshots coming from the car behind.
- Shit! If you're going to do something, do it now!
She smiled
-I'm saving us the American way!
Noelani turned the steering wheel towards the woods, as Sal closed his eyes subconsciously, deep down he knew they wouldn't get out of the situation perfectly, but he hoped for the best.
Seconds of total silence. They were both surprisingly alive after Noelani's stunt and there was no sign of any car behind them anymore.
-Yes!!! We did it, Noe! - Sal said breathing heavily
Noelani didn't seem as happy
-Sorry to ruin it for you pal, a gunshot went through one of the car wheels, we can't go back.
Noelani and Sal starred into each other eyes, the freight and the concern they both had were unimaginable.
-Let's hope Mónica and Kaleb find us before they do- both of them said
