Haunted hospital

Me and a group of about 7 friends went out somewhere at the end of each month, whether it be shopping, mucking about at a park or one of their houses, this month since it's close to Halloween we decided to go to an abandoned building, we arranged it for the end of September when everyone was available and made plans in groups too get there as usual

Me and my friend Caitlin decided since we're always into Halloween and scary stuff that we were gonna prank the rest of our friends, Halloween stuff was just appearing in shops and we were going to buy fake blood and make up things to scare them

Our plan was to split up a bit too explore and us two go together, we were then going to put the fake blood in one of our mouths and scream so the others come running as she 'vomits' the blood

It went off without a hitch, we entered the building, an old abandoned school that apparently was shut because of asbestos poisoning in the canteen, we split up but stayed in the same corridor, mainly because it was scarier than we had first thought

We quietly put our plan into action and managed to almost make a few of our friends cry, we laughed about it and cleaned off the blood from her face a bit, getting dirty looks from our friends who weren't as much into the Halloween spirit as us

We moved on to the other side of the school and split up again, we gave our friends the fake blood so we couldn't prank them again and looked around more

This is where things went horribly wrong in every way possible

We heard a table move in the next room and stopped moving, our friends were at the other side of the corridor or a good few rooms away on our side, but the 3 rooms here were ours too look around. We had checked before entering one, no one was in there, we hadn't heard anyone in the corridor outside the broken door either

I crept over to the wall, which like the rest of the building was partially rotten away

I looked through the small gaps in the wall, watching for a couple of seconds before a shadow flitted across the wall opposite the small window in the room

I backed away from the wall silently and turned, gesturing to be quiet

"There was a shadow" I whispered, my friend, shrugged "it's probably a bird or something," she said normally, I winched and looked back at the wall, still uneasy but shrugged it off, the shadow had been smallish, I think

we moved on and checked the other rooms, even the one where I saw the shadow much to my protest, we met up again, being the last to arrive, we strolled over happily before noticing most of them were pale

"guys? wh-" "SHhh!" almost everybody was shushing everyone else "we need to go, now" I looked around, the uneasy feeling creeping its way back

"did you see something?" I said, much quieter this time, they all nodded silently, I gulped, " A shadow by chance? things moving?" they once again nodded silently

"lets get out here first then we can talk about what we saw" I whispered, shortly followed by a scream as a nearby door slammed shut, a few birds flew about but settled quickly, we crept back towards the main corridor of the building, in the distance, where we had been earlier when we did our pranks the sound of things scraping, banging, rattling, a few doors slamming 

"guys, run!" my best friend shouted and promptly bolted towards the main exit

we followed without a pause, running past doors that would slam shut or burst open as we passed, lockers flew open with paper flying everywhere

footsteps, loud and thundering started following us down the hall amongst the doors and lockers 

we hit the main door and ran out onto the main street, running across the road into traffic in sheer terror, we didn't stop running until we hit the centre of town again, we never talked about it too much, but we had all seen a shadow of some sorts in either the same or adjoining room

years later we saw on the news that a group of kids had been found dead in the building at the back, one of the few places we hadn't got to explore, we would have found them as well, they had apparently been there for roughly 4 years, just, sitting. They had gone there and vandalised some things, broke a few lockers but didn't get far into the building before something happened to them, no one knows what it was, but there was definitely something in that building, something eviler than the spirit of 4 kids vandalising a school despite being dead, I really hope no one has to find out. 

so we've hit 6k, guys this is insane I wrote this story at Halloween last year and never really finished it, the writing style changed because it took over 8 months for me to get back, but its insane the support and reads this book had got, absolutely insane, Thank you so much,  here hoping to another 4k+ and plenty more updates!.
