Even on the last day, I didn't realise it was the last.
I didn't realise I would be alone, remembering the past.
Little did I know it was our last kiss,
Little did I know I wouldn't come back to what I left.
Little did I know the day we shared our last kiss,
That you would become a dream, a wish.
Some dreams stay dreams while some come true.
My love, my life, which dream are you?
Reality with you in it always felt like an illusion.
And when you held my hand for the last time,
Everything inside me felt warm, came undone.
Little did I know someday you wouldn't be mine.
When I think of us and what we had,
Closing my eyes, I see you without even trying.
The word 'Mine' comes to mind but you aren't anymore.
I see our pictures and end up crying.
Maybe it happens to you too or maybe you forgot me.
Your laugh still warms my heart but freezes my mind.
I end up thinking if we were what I thought we were,
Or was the mess the only thing we left behind?
I thought there was a lot more to us than only hurt, tears and pain.
Baby, trust me, I didn't mean to hurt you again and again.
When I finally changed completely,
It's ironic that you couldn't notice the changes.
And even when you admitted that I changed,
You thought I'd already gotten a lot of chances.
I wish I knew that was our last kiss,
Because I would've basked in your love a little more.
I would've tried to hold on longer,
Before letting you go for evermore.

PoetryPeople weave dreams. Some come true, some don't. Some get shattered. I don't know if the ones I write here are ever gonna come true.. I don't know whether shattered dreams can live again.
